"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

If you know the frequency transmitted by those towers, you can tune a receiver to listen for broadcasts. A field strength meter that is sensitive in the frequency range will also detect the RF emissions.
GWEN operates between 150 KHz and 175 KHz. Many GWEN sites are being converted to host NDGPS which is a national terrestrial differential GPS transmitters (maintained by the Coast Guard) and operating at 300 KHz. The GWEN packet radio network has an anticipated service life of about 15 years. It provides a redundant communication path in case the MilStar and other satellite systems fail in a nuclear war.
It appears there is an active process of decommissioning GWEN sites and converting to NDGPS. Idaho Falls will get an NDGPS tower this year.
Yes it is your imagination, put the tinfoil back on.
Idiots abound! They are everywhere. When I think about our political climate, the liberals and our enemies and what they would have us believe, the words to the old Alan Parsons hit "Eye in the Sky" come to mind: "I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools, I can cheat you blind." Unfortunately, they didn't count on FReepers and their dedicated sources (you Jill) being 99% more cognizant of what is going on in the world than they are.
Since the media is in the business of reporting (thereby inciting) Iraqi anger and violence due to alleged abuse, they've figured out they have a bona fide source of daily news stories. When people are beheaded or mutilated, it serves their own interests. Quiet news days don't breed viewers.
AMEN Indie! I agree with you and feel the same. That video, although I chose not to view it, should be available somewhere because some of us are not yet ready to view it, doesn't mean eventually we don't want to see it. This man's death cries out for the attention it deserves, but is not getting.
Whoa, there's some very interesting speculation going on in that thread. As if the event weren't bizarre enough, this puts another spin on it.
They better reconsider that option IMHO unless they want to govern a population comprised solely of Iraqi militants.
Thanks for sharing that interview with us JP. It was an incredibly good poem.
JP you can be anything you want to be. :-)
Thanks for all the interesting links to you and Cindy for the news updates of the day.
Bill was lucky to have you too Granny! God blessed you both! We are all blessed because he served to keep this country free. Thank you for sharing your memory of him with us :)
Wow - you are absolutely right - that did make my blood pressure go through the roof. If anything, we are all outraged about Michael Berg's death. There is confusion about his not leaving Iraq when given the chance, but that is an international story, not just on Free Republic.
I think if someone made a Kennedy punching bag, it would be a big seller. His day will come and he will have to answer for what he did to Miss Kopeckni. Pontificating to us about what he thinks others have done wrong, just doesn't mean a load of @*1&. They must have been hard up for senator candidates in Massachusetts to have elected that piece of work.
Only if we permit it to happen JP.
Sooooooooooooooooooo glad you're such an expert on tinfoil.
But it gets so hot in the summer to keep it on!
In one of my former jobs, my boss was a Canadian who applied for US citizenship. He ordered a couple of porn tapes that were delivered in a plain brown envelope to work. I opened his "mail" and when I saw the tapes, I immediately tried to make it appear the package had not been opened (I knew instantly I was finished at that job). The sad part is the man had a wife and two kids. My co-workers then told me he was having an affair with a local waitress. When I was notified I was being "laid off," it was actually a relief. He drove a $45,000 SUV and lived large in a spectacular home. I've often wondered how people like that seem to excel in the business world. Thankfully, God will ultimately judge him.

I'm trying to get a visual on that JP!

A new Rummy-ism........today in Baghdad.
"I kind of think other countries ought to be able to say for themselves what they're doing, so I try to avoid doing it. I wish more people would do that with things I'm doing. (Laughter.) But they seem not to do that, so that's life."
