Toledo police detective Steve Forrester, left, and Tom Ross, an investigator with the Lucas County prosecutor's office, and formerly of the Toledo police, talk about the Robinson case.
Allegations made last year by a Toledo woman that she was sexually and physically abused as a child by Catholic priests during Satanic and sadomasochistic rituals led to the reopening of the 1980 case of a nun's murder for which the Rev. Gerald J. Robinson was arrested Friday, authorities said.

I hope Fr. Robinson has been in contact with them.To me he doesn't seem to be the assertive type. But former parishioners love and support him.
To: heyheyhey
Also, what about the other priests she mention as being involved in her abuse?

I don't know.
In this case, of Fr. Robinson, three very serious charges clustered together:
- Murder,
- Satanism,
- Child rape.
None of them fits the personality of THIS good and faithful priest of 40 years, and none of them seems to hold water.
To: heyheyhey
I doubt there is any evidence for the Satanism or Child rape. The allegations she makes are so heinous that one would have to be a real sociopath to have been involved and would have engaged in more of this sort of activity. There would be more people coming forward and more about the other preists in the story if the allegations were credible. This is sensationalism designed to sell papers and destroy a man's reputation. What I can't figure is why SNAP is convinced there is something to her allegations. Are they that desperate?

Thanks for the information about Opus Bono Sacerdotii. I sent them e-mail informing about Fr. Robinson.

As I said in a previous post,it is clear that there is a chilling animosity dircted at the Church in this killing. It was manifested 24 years ago when the murder took place as evidenced by the ritualistic placement of the body.
The fact that the knife was allegedly the property of Fr. Robinson means nothing. Any clever murderer who wanted to hurt the Church would naturally steal the weapon and return in it to it's owner after doing the dirty deed. What could be easier and more in keeping with an evil objective than a priest whose office was close to the chapel. On the other hand,we don't know anything about Father either, nor can we begin to realize how many holy people may have been under an evil supernatural influence in the 70's and 80's especially.
In a way,we should be grateful that it has resurfaced now rather than remaining unsolved and simmering. We may learn much more about what evil lurks close to the Church from this case than from the sexually abused minors. For that let us pray. And we should also pray earnestly for Father Robinson, who,no matter the case needs our prayers.

There is NO WAY to reopen the case after 24 years based on a testimony of a gal fed human eyeball AFAIK, murder cases are never officially closed until they're solved. There was an article in the Boston Herald maybe five or six years ago about the "cold case" file and detectives who worked on it. (I think they had just solved a very old case.) I do recall from the article that detectives would go through the cold case file from time to time; I don't recall whether they were officially assigned (in addition to other duties) or they just went through cold cases to keep the outlines at least fresh in their minds.

"her allegations could not be substantiated." That doesn't mean the same thing as "discredited."

Thanks Narses,I am sure something else is going on there, something pricked my memory cells, but not enough to jar anything loose. On this particular matter,I have read every article about it and the resurfacing is not as bizarre as a few people on this thread think it to be.
At the very least 24 years ago an act occured that was meant to bring scandal to the Church,it remains a mystery. It's time to get to the bottom of it.
If the Church is to be cleansed, the past must be part of the process.

Three other people have said they also were abused by priests in rituals, said Catherine Hoolahan, an attorney...
They all mentioned similar occurrences, she said, but she would not provide details. Don't get trapped in the media's deceptive language!
The very details - the eyeball, snake, casket filled with cockroaches, killed kids and dogs - are the key to the whole case, and easy enough to prove.
We either are or are NOT talking about satanic rituals. If "They all mentioned similar occurrences," - how similar??? - they have to include details, if "she would not provide details," then we are dealing with a suggestive manipulation by the media, wink-wink-you-know-what-I-mean, and so far there is very little more than that in the press coverage.

While very rare, no doubt Satan's agents have infiltrated the church in attempts to take it down, so it would not be surprising.

It makes me wonder if the sister stumbled upon Robinson doing Satanic stuff.

murder cases are never officially closed until they're solvedIt must be a nice thing to be a murder "suspect" for 24 years.
Maybe, after all, the Statute of Limitations makes perfect sense?
To: maryz
"her allegations could not be substantiated."
That doesn't mean the same thing as "discredited."It has exactly the same practical effect.
To: maryz
Actually, "dismissed" is the word.
To: heyheyhey; maryz
Pardon me? The statute of limitatiion, when it comes to murder, makes a heck of a lot of sense.
Heyhey, are you convinced that there has not been any diabolic or satanic influences working themselves into the soul of the Church? Please answer,I get the distinct feeling that you don't.
To: csvset
strange....
there's a good novel here for someone to write.
To: saradippity
Every civilized country on the face of the earth has the Statute of Limitations in their legal system. It makes sense in every sort of crime, murder included, because with the passing of time, it becomes easier and easier to make a mistake and convict an innocent person - memories fade, witnesses move away.
This thread proves my point; some of the posters here suggested details of what had happened on the night of the murder (don't forget, it happened 24 years ago!), other fell for the little manipulations by media.
Let me predict what will the outcome of this case be, Fr. Robinson will be acquitted for the lack of evidence and let free, but he will NEVER be able to prove his innocence. His life and his good name in this world are ruined. His faith will sustain him though.
Diabolic or satanic influences? I believe the present accusation against a good priest Fr. Robinson is one of the many instances of them. And the eyeballs, cockroaches & snakes? Pure BS from a movie.
To: heyheyhey; maryz
How do you explain the attempt to make it look like a ritualistic ceremony? Did you read how her body was arranged? You don't think there was an attempt to connect the death of a nun with some sinister Church ceremony? I do,and optimistically I think the truth will out. Maybe too much Perry Mason as a teen ager?
I think many of these happenings recently are acts of Divine Intervention. Many prayers are needed so we humans don't drop the ball God hands us.
