How come the paperwork on Kerry's Bronze Star Award is signed by John Lehman, Sec. of the Navy????
In addition, the date Lehman (supposedly) signed it is not on the document.
Did Kerry not get the award when Chaffee was Secretary of the Navy? If not, why not?
Did Kerry get the award 15 years late?
Or is the paperwork a "sham" and somebody made a big booboo?
I'll post the document as soon as I find it again. Maybe somebody here has it bookmarked? And, if there's already been a thread on this that I missed....please direct me to the proper thread.
Thanks!

It's not the only time Kerry lost track of his chain-of-command. He's complained more than a few times that "Nixon sent me to Vietnam," but the plain fact is that in November of 1968, LYDON BAINES JOHNSON was the President.

Once again it should be pointed out that Chafee is and, as SECNAV, was a civilian. As such would NOT have been in a naval uniform at the issuance of a medal to Kerry.

It's John Lehman's signature. I received a Navy Commendation Medal/Citation that was signed by John Lehman in Dec '85. This why it has taken so long to release the records.....Kerry's gotten caught and he's toast! And when did Kerry decide to run for the Senate??

I checked, he was slightly injured 2/28/69; 3/5/69; and 4/17/69 busy guy getting all scratched up that way. He obviously got the Bronse Star and Silver Star at least 10 years later, he was probably begging the Navy so much, they finally gave in and said..........give the sob the metals to get him off our backs.
IIRC, a few months ago, some of the guys who served with Kerry in VN made statements about Kerry hitting them up for recommendations for medals. That would have had to be later (after they were out of VN). It seems several agreed to sign the recommendations for commendations just to get Kerry to quit bugging them.

Odd part about the Lehman signature, they exactly match.
No-one can sign their name the same way every time.
That smells in and of itself.

We also have another mystery in addition to the Lehman signatures.
Kerry has the following SILVER STAR certificate -- Signed by John H. Hyland, Pacific Fleet Commander and Then a SECOND certificate signed by Lehman.
Find law has the following SILVER STAR certificate -- Signed by Elmo Zumalt, Vietnam Commander.
While the event and date are the same These 2 Silver Star Certificates have DIFFERENT writeups.

I FOUND IT!
I have John Lehman's signature on a Navy Unit Commendation received by the USS Saratoga CV-60 in 1986.
I am scanning it now...but I will save you the suspense:
IT IS IDENTICAL TO THE ONE ON JOHN KERRY'S SILVER STAR!
