My wife just said she saw that on the news - it must have dissipated before it got up our way.

Still waiting for the first real outbreak here.
What a horribly boring severe weather season.

As in Ireland. We're up to our ears in Guinness.
To: HAL9000
Of course, nobody wants them to damage houses and buildings, just go through open country.

I was waiting to bring up the latest SPC "Slight Risk" area. As spotters we are trained not to ignore areas near, but not in, a Risk or Watch Box area. That was the case today.
Shows you even the pro's have trouble predicting severe weather. One has to be aware and adopt rapidly, during severe weather season.
Some tips,
- Play Keep Up, not Catch Up with the latest forecast.
- Have A Personal Plan Of Action at home, work and during travel.
- Get a NOAA Weather Radio.
- Regardless of your location, do you know where the nearest Tornado Shelter is?
- Do you have a Personal Communication Plan during emergencies?

Yeah. Evergreen Park and Oak Lawn are kind of an extension of Morgan Park/Beverly/Mt. Greenwood as far as cultural institution like churches and taverns are concerned.
To: Milwaukee_Guy
Not to nitpick but only a couple of hours before the outbreak here's what the local NWS issued. Ouch!
This does appear to be a very atypical event. Classic parameters were not in evidence. Only very high shear values were notable. This storm deserves some research so we can learn how better to anticipate an atypical event such as this.

Thanks for the report on Downers Grove. Much appreciated. I live in Florida and Downers Grove. I'm in Florida right now. I have lots of family in the DG and Naperville environs. Looks like these areas lucked out.

It's been quiet all evening here. I heard some thunder off in the distance but thats all. I don't think we even got much rain. It DID rain earkier in the day but it stopped around 5PM or so here.
