The DC Chapter of Free Republic set up a Viet-Cong Vets for Kerry bake sale in front of Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry's national headquarters in Washington DC this afternoon. The Kerry campaign responded by calling the D.C. police to shut down the bake sale.
When the D.C. police arrived they ordered the DC Chapter to shut down the protest in 15 minutes or they would ticket them for occupying a public space without a permit. At that point the police would then disperse them themselves.
Due to the short notice, and the fact that it would be a small group, the DC Chapter did not apply for a permit.
Kristinn is scheduled to appear on Fox News this afternoon for an in-studio interview. The interview should air sometime between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm today. As more details become available, they will posted here.
Kudos to those that attended. The honor roll is Kristinn, Angelwood, TGSLTakoma, TBP, Trueblackman, and Staytrue.
Here is the link to the original announcement about the bake sale

Maybe it was one of those vendors, set up on every corner, who complained? If that's legal, the prostitutes should run off the Kerry campaign for working their corner.

Super photos as usual!
Love the photos of the food items and the names, especially "Ho Chi Mints," "Tossed Medal Salad," and "Pecan Sandinista Cookies."
Who came up with those names? I'm guessing that it was you, but kudos to whoever thought up those names.

I'm very sorry to bring that memory up, Ronnie. That wasn't our intention with the display. We wanted to let people know how much damage John F. Kerry did to our troops' morale then, and now, by his words and actions.
John Kerry's actions after coming home from Vietnam no doubt brought great morale boost to the NVA and the VC. I also wonder how many American GIs were injured and killed because of Kerry's meeting with the enemy in Paris...
I don't want history to repeat.

Great pictures!
I love the labelels. The one on the can of Vichy-ssoise especially. "In the French tradition I surrendered to, and collaborated with the experts to produce this fine product." - LOL
Wish I could have been there. Despite the cops, it looks like you all had a great time. A big "thumbs up" to all of you!

You did an excellent job on all the food items and labels -- the red tablecloth and yellow plates really set the bake sale items off! Thanks for all you do. (And the photos are also exceptional and show how a small group can upset the Kerry supporters and worker bees.)

A crowd had gathered around, and as Franken walked away frustrated, Raoul informed him that his Air American audience had just tripled. Raoul never misses a beat. Great line and right on the money. Way to go Firebrand and Raoul! Shows that you don't have to have a lot of people out there to make a statement.
