Comet Bradfield is plunging toward the sun; at closest approach on April 17th it will be well inside the orbit of Mercury. Sun-approaching comets sometimes break-apart. Will Comet Bradfield survive? No one knows.

I have a question to ask you, or anybody that might shine any light that might answer something that I was wondering about. What element(s), gases, or particles can effect and reduce our megentic field ?

Aside from the Electrical interface the Comet undergoes..the Sun also quadrant/hemisphere excites from the comets approach..and as shown in the c/2002 v1 Neat ani ....the quantum jump of ions and protons is staggering.

As the comet accelerates toward the Sun electrons begin to be stripped from the nucleus like a "cold-cathode". It develops a visible glow discharge and Birkeland current tail. These electrical effects we call a comet. At some point, more powerful arcs strike on the comet nucleus and give rise to "cathode-jets" which move about and burn circular craters. The electrical discharges to a cometary cathode will follow the magnetic field lines in the vicinity of the comet. So it will be interesting to compare the jet directions with the solar wind field direction which, because it spirals out from the Sun, does not coincide with the comet-Sun line. There is no "shock wave" to be understood in the usual sense. A charged body in the plasma of space will form a sheath to protect itself from its electrical environment. The boundary of the comet's coma defines the virtual anode region of a plasma glow discharge. Electrons are accelerated outward and positive ions inward across the sheath. Strong X-rays are generated where these particles recombine.

At the Electric Universe website are articles on how the Suns Plasma emmisions effect the Earths magnetic field.
A comet on approach..perihelion and outleg causes the Sun to throw off Plasma's..which lace the inner planets and effect their fields..if they have one.

Plasma X-Rays !?!

I find this very interesting in the study you provided.

I wonder if this space satellite(ROSAT) is being used right now to check and study T7 and Q4 for possible X-Ray emissions, since these two giants will leave alot of debris
in earth orbital plane ?

T7 will pass us closest at 0.26 AU, which is @ 24 million
miles according to NASA/JPL chart, but the tail might hit us on the 17th of May ???

It all depends on the out-gasing of T7, which I don't know ! We (The public) don't know the real size of T7 and Q4 yet ? This Satursday we will see T7 and Bradfield F4 then the pc's of the puzzle will start falling into place slowly ?!

I wonder if ROSAT have a website link ?

It will be of interest to see how the weather is in the next while.
The Storms of yesterday..especially Utica Illinois.
Allthough this is a natural storm period in the United States..the Earths magnetic may be effected by the recent passage of Comet C/2004 F4 Bradfield...ie..as the Sun has been electrically interfacing with the comet..the comets Ion flow ..AU distance depends on Coma size.
Charged particles are being dumped into our inner solar system and are drawn to Earth like a magnet.
A very large High pressure system is sitting off the Eastern seaboard..and part of the reason for the large storms and 150mph winds.

The Sun had several electrical interface ejections when Bradfield passed..these are seen on the SOHO ani.

Highly negatively charged comet...Sun dumping Ions and Protons in Quantum jump.

On May 15th 2004 there will be a spectacular display of 4 planets and a very bright, (Magnitude 1.50), naked eye, comet called C/2004 Q4 (NEAT). This comet will be putting on quite a show during May. Observers should look forward to tracking this beauty all the way into summer of 2004 where it starts to dip down to a magnitude of 7.0

Tonight I saw a very strange thing. In the northwest,(I live in Saskatchewan, Canada), I observed a really large orange glowing dot. This was around 11:30pm. Around 12:15 the glow completely disappeared after three times of disappearing/reappearing. Skies look very clear. Very puzzled, anyone know what it might have been?

That should definitely be worth getting up early for. I'm at 46.5 north, definitely marginal, but between an 8 inch SC, a gen 2 Russian image intensifier, and 60 mm binoculars, I probably have a fair chance at spotting at least one.
