"I didn't attack him without cause.
He doesn't cut it in the intellect department.
He may have charm, charisma, Texas style, and be a good ole' boy (all good things) but he ain't a sharp tack.
He kept repeating the same thing, four times, as answers to different questions. That's why he has to answer questions like tonight's "Why do you have to appear with Cheney?" (at the upcoming hearing)."
Then you heard a different set of questions than I did, every freaking question, had the same "INTENT" and there was but one answer for the STUPID questions asked.
All questions were accusatory, insulting and were not after "news" rather an attempt to trip President Bush up so these vapid lazy disrespectful media whores could make news.

Savage is a brilliant guy. If you haven't sat in the hot seat for three hours at a time day after day you don't realize how good he really is. He also makes some great points about no border control and uncontrolled illeagals ruining the country. These are topics most people won't touch with a ten foot pole.

You don't get through Yale and then a Harvard MBA with an IQ of 85 or 90. Gore flunked out of two postgraduate schools. His Southern accent doesn't help him sound smart...maybe it's GW's Texas twang that bends your ear?

Bush, like his father, butchers syntax, but is not a Clintonian poll follower. Instead, he actually believes in doing what is right and what we all fundamentally understand is right. You find fault in his delivery and his intellect, yet your own intellect should appreciate the wisdom of Bush's actions in Afghanistan and Iraq. While the sausage is being made, it is nasty business, but the final product is rather tasty. Give this thing in Iraq some time, you might be inclined to change your mind about Mr. Bush.
HEAR HEAR HEAR! Very well said Sir!

Psalm 5
8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

People in the USA are not really ready yet to "admit" to our own stupidity.
Mainly because it was not stupidity, so much as exhaustion.
For example: I narrowly missed being killed a few times in Germany by terrorists, the closest call came in August of 1981 at USAFE HQ at Ramstein AB.
As usual, the rather stupid terrorist attempt at destroying a three story u shaped building failed, because only the detonator blew, and it blew early. It succeeded in blowing a Volkswagon over a three story building and breaking a lot of windows, but the actual bomb part,65 lbs of plastique, in a bastardised propane tank cylinder, was not even scorched. It did take several days to clean up the mess.
I was frantic to call home and let my friends and family know I was OK.
They had no idea what I was talking about! It didnt even warrant a report on the national news in the USA!
Granted that was the old, cold war days. There was still the formidible USSR threat to consider, and everything else was, well, only a minor irritation when compared to total, worldwide, nuclear devastation in the probable war between the Superpowers.
So much for the mini history lesson.
The USSR disbanded,China started trending towards capitolism, and Sung and Castro lost their main financial support mechanisms.
Peace started breaking out, and Dictators, Communists, and Socialists lost their primary means of international financial support.
All they had left(LEFT) was disjointed terrorism tactics as the means to enforce their proven failed ideolgies.
What to do if you are a meglomaniac?
Why, hone terrorism! Expand terrorism!
Keep their populations ignorant, hungry and angry!
Direct it outwards, and cling to power for a few more years.

Savage flip-flops like O'Reilly. He is for the war then it is the worst thing we could have done. He has good shows and bad. Rush Laura and Hugh rarely have bad shows.

When the first reporter asked if the President felt responsible for 9-11 I almost kicked my TV in!Sick of the press bias that we saw tonight? Don't kick in your TV! Take direct, fun, constructive, and peaceful action! The TV set that you save may be your own.
FReepers from across the country, you're invited to the D.C. Chapter's Sixth Annual Freep of the White House Correspondents Association (thread with preliminary announcement). Quoting from that:
Saturday, May 1, 4 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. The D.C. Chapter's Sixth Annual Freep of the White House Correspondents Association Dinner. Location: Outside the Washington Hilton, Connecticut Avenue and T Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
Our most fun protest every year. This is your chance to tell the mainstream media to their faces what you think about their biased reporting. You'll also be able to meet and thank those reporters who do their job like it should be done.

"He kept repeating the same thing, four times, as answers to different questions."That's the mark of a good politician. He had his game on.
You stay on message. In any political speech directed to the general public you usually want to stick to no more than 3 points, and keep repeating them.
In this case, Bush really had only 1 point for the whole press conference.
He hammered it home. It will stick.
he will keep hammering it again and again over the next several months.
Likely it appears to become his major campaign theme.
"I mean what I say" "We're gonna stay the course. We're gonna change the world. We're gonna improve American security. We're gonna bring liberty to the people of Iraq and change the mideast. He actually said he was gonna win the war on terror.
A political speech, from a politician in a political campaign period.
