A comentator on FOX basically explained it like this: FBI and CIA agents doing foreign counterintelligence investigations could not give the information they had directly to the FBI criminal investigators. The FBI couldn't talk to itself!

The Stupid 911 relatives all cheered when Gorelick tried to implicate Bush and Rice in some dereliction of duty that lead to their relatives being murdered by Bin Laden. Well if any of you 911 relatives are reading this thread take note that it was Gorelick herself that put up the roadblocks that could have saved your relatives from bin Laden and his agents.
Do all you 911 relatives want to cheer her on now? What a bunch of buffoons and useful idiots.

"W should start de-clasifying stuff all over the place." Man oh man - you are a troublemaker! LOL! And I fervently AGREE!

It's really sad how the majority of these folks (9/11 families) have been used by a vocal minority and the Democrat PR machine(the mainstream press).

Gore-Lick on Lou Dobbs now. A remote chance CNN is forced to put a piece of commentary on the issue. Is she trying to pull a Memogate on this - make the declassification and release of the memo the issue, in order to take the memo's contents out of the spotlight?

Already did pull a memo gate. This one is a flash in the pan story. Gore-Lick has merely suggested that Ashcroft implemented the previous administration's policy, thereby vindicating the Clinton Administration.

These 911 families are soiling the memories of the people they claim to have loved. All in some vain attempt to smear the man who has dedicated every resource available to the United States in order to track down the murderers and ensure that something like 911 never happens again.
That's gratitude, huh?
Bush is not the one that should be apologizing. It's these 911 families that are in the Kerry camp that ought to go down to the 911 memorial and apologize to their loved ones for soiling their memory in the name of partisan politics. Shame on them!
Its too bad they have no shame.

I'm no lawyer but what I get out of 'The Wall' memo is that Gorelick was more concerned with tainting ongoing criminal prosecutions than with preventing future terrorism or foreign intelligence gathering.
Oh Demon Rats, ball headed back to your court and you're hopelessly out of position!

One has to wonder why Gorelick is even on this committee, I suspect she is a plant so that she could give prior warnings and information to the Clintons. This is far more than a conflict of interest, there should be a full scale investigation. Who was in charge of choosing the commission members?

Gorelick recused herself after that memo was made public.....
and in the morning, Janet Reno was emphatic there was no WALL keeping the intelligence communities separated.
To: BurbankKarl
She's also accused of leaking information.

It's not often you see a witness toss a hand grenade into the lap of the investigators as he leaves the room.
That blowed up real good.

Gorelick herself wrote the classified memo putting up the wall between investigation and intelligence in the FBI and CIA!
