I hope the FBI and Secret Service has stormed the offices of this group and the newspaper it was published in. This is inciting violence however one looks at it. A hit on Rumsfeld is a serious threat! They also claim their associated with the kerry campaign. I knew kerry was more than a peace loving jerk!

I just spoke with the Publisher of the newspaper:
Ken Reichart......727-321-6965
He says that the newspaper will be issuing an apology in the next issue. And that the St. Pete Dems will be apologizing as well.
I told him that the ad was irresponsible. And I reminded him that a mentally ill person tried to kill President Reagan over a movie star. I said that in he future the paper should show more responsibility in taking ads.
I told him the Ad 'reeked with hatred' and that I didn't think it would win the Dems any votes. He said he tended to agree.
KEEP CALLING THEM!

If it had been a Republican club saying the same thing about a Clinton, Kerry, Kennedy, etc., there woul be no end to their screeching for the FBI to bust down the doors with guns a blazing.

This is actually clever wordsmanship -- a "patriate" is a resident of a country (q.v. "ex-patriate" a citizen of one country living in another). However, it is a near-homophone to "patriot", which is what most people will think.
Actually, I don't believe "patriate" is a word, at least not in the sense they are using it. I can only find it in the OED and it is a Canadian term:
patriate, v. To bring (legislation) under the constitutional authority of an autonomous country, used with reference to laws passed on behalf of that country by its former mother-country.
Quote (headline): "Trudeau wants serious bid to patriate constitution"

Sounds like the kind of thing one would here spouting from a bullhorn at a Hippie Peace rally circa 1969-70. Now we know what happened to the Hippies--they became Dimocrats. Peace now, brother! Re-read your non-violence booklets, but then again, the Hippies were never tolerent of others.

The thing I don't get, is that while the Democratic Party is against capital punishment, some among their ranks are in favor of killing the innocent via abortion or physician assisted suicide; they abhor the concept of eye-for-an-eye, especially when it involves the nation of Israel's response to homicide bombings and terrorist attacks, yet in the face of what they consider "immoral war" they advocate the practice of "shooting your officers" or in this case, shooting your "Defense Secretary."
It is things like this that tell me not to take them seriously even when they may have a serious point about their support for "the right to choose" or "the right to die."
