Your entitled to your opinion. And I'll even go so far as to say that there is definitely a significant political component to this war. But if Bush is playing politics, it's to ensure that we remain in this thing to win, rather than accede to the slobbery recommendations of Ted Kennedy.

One could almost argue that the insurgents are taking their clues from the American media and Ted Kennedy if you want to go there. What do you mean almost?
OTOH, if those a-holes in the bath robes are taking it on the chin like I hope they are, in a month or so Drunk Teddy will be down to blaming Bush for pot-holes and hot summers and keep his scotch-hole shut when it comes to foreign affairs.

If we kill 10 for one of ours, I call that a good day.Ah, body counts ... where have I heard that before.
Let's not go there, I don't think Bush will.

Brit Hume just said Fallujah was a center of Shiite resistance. I thought they are Sunni!
Gosh darn it, even Brit is confusing me!!!

Alright... Sky is reporting now...And they are basically relying on Fox's guy at the Pentagon. I think the people at Sky HQ basically misinterpreted Chater. He kept refering to 130 dead soldiers without specifying them as American. If they were American I hink he would have made it more obvious. That's why I decided to not post it.
That said they are live now and they confirm the number of KIA as 12, but that the number is expected to increase significanly according to the pentagon sources talking to the Fox correspondent.

Perhaps they could try to be a diversion for their comrades in Fallujah.Isn't that what freeper wretchard said would happen.

The media is having a hard time getting any facts correctly and don't have a clue on the tactics. For that see this:

It would be almost impossible for 120 Marines to be killed witout a large scale weapon. A straight assualt on a Marine compound using assault weapons, grenades, and RPG's could certainly result in 10-15 deaths, if the Marines were surprised and grossly out numbered.
However, a simply calll for combat air support would prevent the type of mass casualties described. If you had a compaound with 130 armed marines, and it was assualted by 100 or so armed fanatics, I don't see any way that you end up with all those Marines being dead.
I am very skeptical of the report.
(One possibility might be that this compound was lightly guarded, and that an overwhelming attack by hundeds of enemies immediately over-ran the position. In that scenario, however, the only way to get to that many deaths would be if someone were counting all people in the compound, rather than combat Marines. Still unlikely.

Rule 2... the death count is always higher than first reported.

Speaking of
Korea, remember during all this excitement in the M.E. to also keep an eye on those bastards (over there in the North). I am.
It is precisely at times like this that they start their provocative saber rattling and border crossings/machinegun attacks on the South.
