McInerney says we have enough troops. Hunt says we have enough, but not the right mix. McInerney says this was not unexpected. Hunt says some of this is because we didn't disarm them, but we didn't have the resources to do it rigiht after the war.

O'Reilly is in melt down.Rumsfield has a LOT of explaining to do,he says..a lot.The Iraqis won't fight..they run away,etc.

The one thing I think is important now is patience. To me the Iraq war was always about a lot more than WMD. I must admit that I belong to the Friedman camp.

This is not a one year project. It's a generational project. Can it be done? Do we have the required patience?

My fear is that the US electorate doesn't have that patience..It is certainly lacking at DU.

And lastly, I must admit that bringing democracy to that region might be a fools errand in any event. Oriana Fallaci seems to think so, and who am I to argue with her :-)
