America no longer white, united, English-speaking

In 1960, when JFK defeated Nixon, America was a nation of 160 million, 90 percent white and 10 percent black, with a few million Hispanics and Asians sprinkled among us.

We were one nation, one people. We worshipped the same God, spoke the same English language, studied American history and English literature, honored the same heroes, read the same books, watched the same TV shows, went to the same movies and saw ourselves as defenders of Western civilization against the godless communism of the Soviet Empire.

We were confident and proud of who we were. That was yesterday. But due to the Immigration Act of 1965 and the cultural revolution of the '60s, that America is now gone forever. And as one studies the latest projections of the Census Bureau, the America of our grandchildren will be another country altogether, a nation unrecognizable to our parents, a giant Brazil of the North.

In 2050, there will be three times as many people living here as in 1960 -- 420 million. White Americans will be a minority, 49 percent, and falling. Hispanics in the United States, more than 100 million, will be equal to the population of today's Mexico. Our Asian population will be almost as large as our African-American population today.

By countries of origin, America will be a Third World nation. Our cities will look like Los Angeles today. Los Angeles and the cities of Texas, Arizona and California will look like Mexico City.

Writing in Foreign Policy, Harvard Professor Samuel Huntington, author of Who We Are, raises an alarm about the huge infusion of Hispanics into the Southwest, and for many reasons.

Much of this mass immigration is illegal. Vast numbers are coming here only to work. They are not assimilating. They do not want to become Americans. They are concentrating in states bordering Mexico, which is their country and a nation with a historic grievance against us. They are holding on to their language and culture, creating a Hispanic nation within our nation. By 2050, there will be scores of millions of people living here whose loyalty is to a foreign country.

Moreover, as multiculturalism has captured our schools and colleges, immigrant children will have prejudices and grievances against America and the West reinforced as they learn. The academic elite that controls these schools already paints America as a nation with a rancid history of genocide, slavery, racism, oppression and imperialism.

Is the Census Bureau future the future that Americans wish? No. Are they willing to risk it for their grandchildren? No.

Why, then, does that future appear inevitable?

Answer: Though a majority of Americans wish to preserve the land they grew up in for their children, our elites -- political, academic, cultural and corporate -- are either unwilling to conserve that America or indifferent to its disappearance.

Most Americans want immigration cut back and all illegal aliens sent back. Why is the will of the majority, expressed in polls and referenda, not reflected in law or policy? Because we no longer live in a democratic republic; we are ruled by a managerial elite.

America's corporate elites want an endless supply of cheap labor. Our judges throw out popularly enacted laws to which they object. Our academic elites work to see ''white, racist America'' disappear. Our neo-Marxist cultural elites wish to be the gravediggers of the West and of Christian culture. And America's conservative party, the Republican Party, believes that Hispanics hold the key to retention of presidential power and is anxious not to offend Mexican President Vicente Fox.

If, by 2050, the America we grew up in has become a Tower of Babel of squabbling minorities that is falling apart, it will be because of the treason of the elites, and our lack of will to overthrow them.

You are probably right about the headline. Too bad that Pat has provided lots of ammo from his frequent bouts of foot-n-mouth disease. However, I would say that there's a difference between a liberal critic of Pat and a conservatice critic of Pat like Sean Hannity or even myself.

And possibly what anthropologist you talk to. But be that as it may, what about the time period when the people in Mexico would have migrated there?

No, I didn't already know that. All the Sout Americans I've seen are brown folk. The South America I would be refering to would that one at the time people would have migrated to and settled Mexico.

I like Pat, without buying every things he say, but there are people here that want to call his article racist, that don't even quote the offensive part of the article. Basically Pat just quotes the US Census Burean and says hey folks this is where we are going. Not racist in one little iota to point that out. Other groups count noses all the time, and evaluate what its effects might be. The head of the NAACP, American jews frequently gauge the rate of birth between, Arab Isrealis and Jewish Isrealis, and draw conclusions. It isn't racist when they do it and it aint racist when Pat does it. Calling a person a racist is the worst thing one can do in America. It is like slapping an arm band on a Nazi Era, Jewish person, and it should not be tolerated, when we are trying to have a civil conversation. I actually think, as I've said before that most of those calling people that name are racist themselves.

The leftist media has the word racist really played out. I suppose that is what everyone is sick of. However, if someone put his ideas out there for public inspection expect criticism. That's just I observe about Pat and have lots of things to back that up. As for the leader of the NAACP well I think they're worse and Randall Robinson hated this country so much that he LEFT! As I've said before, I think the left releases such figures to deliberately for some agenda I can't quite put my finger on. I want my culture (the predominate one here) to remain as such.

America while majority "white" has never been racially pure although at the founding I would venture that freedmen were mostly "white".

I have never given much thought as to how many Asians might have been here then. We obviously had plenty of Amerindians we were in the process of subjugating and there were a fair number of black freedmen (one of whom died in the Boston Masscre).

How do you think Russia would react to having it's culture overrun by an alien one? They don't seem to be too fond of dissident cultures within their own.....Chechnyans for example....not that I blame Russia...I don't much like Chechnya's either.

There is nowhere in the words of the Founding Fathers that I am aware of whereby they proclaimed that we should accept everyone in the world who wishes to come here regardless of the consequences.

Enthusiasm for that came later during the huge Irish and Italian (and others) immigration waves when the new citizens began to dictate more and more policy. The movie Gangs of New York last year touched on that from the immigrant perspective.

Irish and Italian immigrants were more culturally compatible in my view than the Amerindian swell we have today. One could argue that by default the more compatible cultures are defined by race but that is not wholly accurate. There are a number of nations of large English influence that supply more culturally compatible immigrants of all races....particularly if they are of the professional class.

Again as though it needs to be said: We cannot tolerate enormous numbers of immigrants from anywhere period.

I know of no nation on earth that has ever surrendered cultural sovereignty willingly though we and Western Europe (to Islam) may be the first.

As an aside and this is quite chauvinistic....I am more sympathetic to any immigrant group the prettier their womenfolk...unabashedly. I think we should open our doors to many Croat, Czech, Baltic, Old Russian, and even your new homeland gals.....they are most welcome here! Shalom (former Ramat Gan business doer here)

Mexicans are unique to the Immigration model that they U.S. has set-up. Mexicans are the only group that are not seperated from their homeland by large distances or by a huge body of water.

While I don't particularly care for Patrick Buchanan, and the title of this piece is rather racist in tone, I'd say this is one of those times when he hits one home.


I doubt he wrote the headline. Editors ususally write them. But the use of the word white, isn't racist,(though I doubt he picked it) Lets be fair, about common usage in America, Whites, generally describe themselves,and each other, using those words. It is acceptable speech. I realize some prefer other words, but neither is considered rude or racist. The test is wether people who have that quality describe themselves that way , and if others do also, in polite conversation. I call myself white, my African American friends and my Asian friends, both refer to me in that way, and I to myself that way. My Asian friends refer to themselves as Asian, though when we were growing up they called themselves Japanese, or Chinese, which ever the case. I follow their lead. Use the words they use, as any polite person should do. Don't see any racism in the title, but again, I doubt he picked it.

Europeans spilled their blood on this continent for the preservation of the Republic. The land is rightly ours. This isn't to say that think only those people should be allowed to be citizens. So you consider Indians to be foreigners on their own land. Unbelievable. To this day the U.S. Government does not respect the Indians of the Americas. It is blatantly racist. Why is it that 21st century we have a unimaginable racist organization called the Bureau of Indian Affairs. What other group in the United States has a special bureaucracy that oversees the "sheep"?

Pat should focus his rants on the real problem of Ragheadism infiltrating this country. It is disgusting to me that all it takes to come to this country is a large pocket book. We should have higher standards for those entering the country. H1B visas and all student visas should be pulled for the next few years to protect ourselves. I doubt we have anything to worry about if Mariano is cutting the grass or picking fruit in an orchard.

Amazing how people forget that the Indian welcomed the original settlers. Thanksgiving? Hello? The Indians were here first. If we went stomping onto someone else's land what would that be? Since then, as Dinesh D'Souza puts it, the government once followed a policy of 'forced inclusion' to one of 'generational slavery'. Any Indian will tell you that the BIA STINKS.

The real enemy is not only wahabi islam, but fatalistic outlooks on life. America was not built on fatalistic views of the future. This country will be just FINE no matter what the nattering nabobs of negativism say.
