America no longer white, united, English-speaking

In 1960, when JFK defeated Nixon, America was a nation of 160 million, 90 percent white and 10 percent black, with a few million Hispanics and Asians sprinkled among us.

We were one nation, one people. We worshipped the same God, spoke the same English language, studied American history and English literature, honored the same heroes, read the same books, watched the same TV shows, went to the same movies and saw ourselves as defenders of Western civilization against the godless communism of the Soviet Empire.

We were confident and proud of who we were. That was yesterday. But due to the Immigration Act of 1965 and the cultural revolution of the '60s, that America is now gone forever. And as one studies the latest projections of the Census Bureau, the America of our grandchildren will be another country altogether, a nation unrecognizable to our parents, a giant Brazil of the North.

In 2050, there will be three times as many people living here as in 1960 -- 420 million. White Americans will be a minority, 49 percent, and falling. Hispanics in the United States, more than 100 million, will be equal to the population of today's Mexico. Our Asian population will be almost as large as our African-American population today.

By countries of origin, America will be a Third World nation. Our cities will look like Los Angeles today. Los Angeles and the cities of Texas, Arizona and California will look like Mexico City.

Writing in Foreign Policy, Harvard Professor Samuel Huntington, author of Who We Are, raises an alarm about the huge infusion of Hispanics into the Southwest, and for many reasons.

Much of this mass immigration is illegal. Vast numbers are coming here only to work. They are not assimilating. They do not want to become Americans. They are concentrating in states bordering Mexico, which is their country and a nation with a historic grievance against us. They are holding on to their language and culture, creating a Hispanic nation within our nation. By 2050, there will be scores of millions of people living here whose loyalty is to a foreign country.

Moreover, as multiculturalism has captured our schools and colleges, immigrant children will have prejudices and grievances against America and the West reinforced as they learn. The academic elite that controls these schools already paints America as a nation with a rancid history of genocide, slavery, racism, oppression and imperialism.

Is the Census Bureau future the future that Americans wish? No. Are they willing to risk it for their grandchildren? No.

Why, then, does that future appear inevitable?

Answer: Though a majority of Americans wish to preserve the land they grew up in for their children, our elites -- political, academic, cultural and corporate -- are either unwilling to conserve that America or indifferent to its disappearance.

Most Americans want immigration cut back and all illegal aliens sent back. Why is the will of the majority, expressed in polls and referenda, not reflected in law or policy? Because we no longer live in a democratic republic; we are ruled by a managerial elite.

America's corporate elites want an endless supply of cheap labor. Our judges throw out popularly enacted laws to which they object. Our academic elites work to see ''white, racist America'' disappear. Our neo-Marxist cultural elites wish to be the gravediggers of the West and of Christian culture. And America's conservative party, the Republican Party, believes that Hispanics hold the key to retention of presidential power and is anxious not to offend Mexican President Vicente Fox.

If, by 2050, the America we grew up in has become a Tower of Babel of squabbling minorities that is falling apart, it will be because of the treason of the elites, and our lack of will to overthrow them.

Not exactly, but close. Japanese have the Kanji script (related to Chinese) for which they keep authentic Japanese names like Suzki etc. It is a pictographic script. The Katakana script is phonetic and is used for non-Japanese names like say Jackie. So Jacki Suzuki would be written in a mix of Katakana and Kanji. They've also got another script Hiragana and many times use the Roman script. Hmmm.. maybe that's the reason they don't get too many foreigners, it's too darn difficult to understand them!!!

Both Israel and India (incidently, the only continuously democratic nations in that list) are Caucasian (white race).

Both also have large numbers of Christians (Israel approx 2.1% vix. 120,000, India 3% approx 30 MILLION).

And White. Let's see, among those countries you've named, a large number are Caucasian (white race) like Saudi Arabia, Iran (the land of the Aryans, and you say they aren't white!!!!), India (like Iran, Aryan land), Syria, Israel, Iraq, Pakistan (Caucasian, mostly Semitic)

Then Christian: Mexico, Central America.

White AND Christian: You've got Christian minorities in those Caucasian/white countries like Iran and India

Here's the bottom line: one hundred years from now, China, Japan, Africa, Indonesia, the Middle East, Central and South America, etc., will still remain strongholds primarily containing the ethnic/racial groups that currently dominate those regions.

His prefacing the word "American" with the word "white" indicates he isn't *only* concerned with culture. There are "non-white" Americans as culturally "American" as Pat Buchanan and other folks so concerned that their race attains/maintains dominance. In this respect little distinguishes Buchanan and his backers from the likes of members of La Raza.

Of course this is not to say Buchanan isn't correct about the wrongness of illegal immigration or the fact that immigrants aren't assimilating into traditional American culture as well as they used to. Next time he should simply focus on that. Leave skin color out of it.

Root races are generally refered to using their skin color. There are other differences. Fringes have mixed. The vast population of each people hasn't. It's clear enough from observation.

True, but that doesn't clarify the point about the "white" Caucasian race. The Iranis and Indians are Aryanic groups and nearly totally Caucasian, yet their skin colors vary. In Europe, the skin tone also varies with region and with season. So, how can you:
a. Say that Caucasian = white when there are shades of black and brown amongst them and
b. say that white/Caucasian is purely European when the number of Caucasians in Europe is about half a billion and the number of Caucasians in Asia is around 1.5 billion?

That brings me to another pet peeve of mine, Europe as a separate continent? It's racially, culturally and linguistically part of the vast Caucasian continent stretching from India to Ireland. Geographically, the Urals may separate part of it from Asia, but don't the Himalayas and Iranian plateau separate Iran and the Indian sub continent from Asia too? Daft, geographically it's more apt to call the entire land mass from Ireland to Japan as Eurasia. Culturally and civilisationally it does have separate groups such as Celtic, Western European, Eastern European, Islamic-Turkic, Islamic-Arabic, Islamic-Persian, Indian, Central Asian (actually part of the Turkic or Persian civs), Chinese, Japanese etc.

I don't know if it's true, but it seems that if you're of Japanese origin but say born in the US or elsewhere (like Fujimori of Peru), your entire name is written in Katakana to show that you are a "gaijin" foreigner and not Japanese. Yup, you're right, the Japs are highly xenophobic, gaijin is a major curse word over there, like "mud-blood" for Muggles in Harry Potter,

My reply #416 chronicled the economic polices of Juan Peron, while your reply #399 was a comment on recent electoral trends that were refuted by the mid term election of 2002.

Juan Peron was a historical figure and his personna still resonates in Argentina today, IMO, to that country's detriment.

I recall a story my father told me--he graduated high school in 1952--but when he was in an early grade, the class was reading about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Karli Willmers was reading and as he came to the word pooridge he was unsure about the pronunciation. He ad-libbed and used the Finnish equivalent, "bood-wa," the teacher thought he was cussing, and took action.

Mrs. Connelly, the teacher, who taught kids from K-2nd grade in the same room, taught me as well. She had a helluva memory as she often called me by my father's name. Could never figure out why she had me sit in front where she could keep an eye on me.
