PRO-BUSH WAR PROTESTER EXPOSES ANTI-WAR PEACENIKS
DAVE SOMMERS , Staff Writer 03/28/2004
When it comes to defending what he sees as President Bushs correct stance in fighting the war on terror, Raoul Deming is about as proactive as one could be.
In fact, he has attended nearly every rally on the East Coast in the past year, whether pro or con, and says hes always ready to confront those who speak out against the president or scoff at any displays of patriotism.
Just last weekend, Deming attended an anti-war rally in Fayetteville, N.C., where he argued with protesters and then presented his own opposing view to newspaper and television reporters.

Ok, how much did you pay Sommers to write this puff piece ;-).
BTW, let's get that PETA Grill-a-thon thingy going. I'm in for that.

The Trentonian is a good newspaper, for such a small staff.
Too bad they don't have their editorials online.
Go Raoul!

Kudos Doc. You may be doing more for the cause than all the rest of us put together. You have the talent for getting in the news and that's what it takes. We have to find ways to be "the news". The media is not going to give us air time unless we push the evelope. I still think that the D.C. Chapter should file a lawsuit against the Federal Security Force for denying their First Amendment rights.

Thanks for finding and posting this article. AFAIK, this is the second profile of pro war on terror citizen activists published in the media since the war started on 9-11.
The silence of the media in this regard is shameful, but what we've come to expect. Kudos to The Trentonian for publishing this story.

"These (protesters) claim to support the troops, but what they do is ruin the morale of our military people serving overseas," he said.
That is exactly right, and it pisses me off a lot when they do that.

Great story about you, Raoul; and about your good works.
We'll be needing to beef up security around your Takoma Park compound once word of this story gets to Brian Becker, Suzie "Medea" Benjamin and Mara VerHeyden-Hilliard.
Great work!
:-)

Thank you, Doctor Raoul, for getting the truth out.

Newspapers tend to subconsciously, or consciously as the case may be, ignore good upbeat stories where right thinking people stand up for what is wholesome for this country.
For some inexplicable reason, most people who choose to become reporters (and eventually editors) are those with a malcontent type personality in the first place.
They are out to change the world in their own image of what should be, and along the way they settle some scores with invisible demons of their past.
If only more mainstream, all-American types would become reporters I think newspapers would be much different.
As it is now, if a newspaper has one or two even moderately conservative reporters, that is a lot.
Most media outlets make their mark in the world by doing stories that highlight victimology or wronged individuals.
People like Raoul have to find an angle which a newspaper can use in their story.
I can't expect a reporter to just write my point of view about something just because I think (or know) it's correct.
There has to be some type of hook to attract the writer or reader.
