Did Yahoo ask you for a credit card before you could sign in and post there? They did me, and I declined so I can not post. A credit card ? No.
Since I recently changed my FR screen name, I went ahead and re-signed up with my new name today, too.
That is so strange. I wonder why they'd do that ?
Maybe you can try again later and see if still does that ...

It appears to me that the opposition has found a negligible flaw and is exploiting it .... ha ! That was one the FIRST things I was wondering when I saw John Robinson's note there, too.

Still a bit glitchy. It kicked me out a few minutes ago, then forced me to log back in. I figured that the DUmmies had hacked us...LOL

That is so strange. I wonder why they'd do that? I suspect it was my own doing. I hate giving out personal info so that they can spam me. I made up a new screen name and entered a fictitious birth date that may have made me seem like an underage person. However, once I did that it obviously placed a cookie that told it not to register me without a credit card. I went and deleted the cookies for Yahoo, but decided it wasn't worth it anyway, given that I found out the FR info and how to reset my hosts file. I have no doubt that if I or anyone else wanted to visit an "adult" group, they would require it also.

Oh, I see. Well, you can always save the FR Yahoo! Group link to your Favorites/Bookmark or whatever and if you have a problem, then you can at least check and read the posts there to find out what's going on, get updates, etc.

It seems to be gone. How will we know how many millions of hits FR gets and how wide an audience our flippant comments actually reach? It's millions, some day perhaps it will reach McDonalds levels.

Very cute.
I just found it to be an interesting link, especially to see where people had found FR from (DU, Der Spiegel, etc.).

The answer:
Slightly - but the negative impact on the number of distinct posters was not as significant as say, the Christmas holiday.
I am surprised.
