Kerrey I think is a straight shooter. He did bash Clinton plenty. It would be wise of us to listen to his criticism, and either accept it or reject it on it's face.

I genuinely think he is serious here about getting at the intelligence failures, be they under Clinton or Bush.

Last year, I read "AFTER" by Steven Brill, and I've been very cynical about some of the 9/11 families since then.

He probably knows he just got the "classified" cover sheet and is ticked that he can't see the real "INTEL".

Whats the deal? A huge chunk of the testimony can't be given due to the data being classified. And these 'gifted'
panelists have inside info and they seem to be taunting the witnesses. Geez. Too bad for them if one of these dudes testifying loses it and start spouting top secret info to the world. Maybe Richard Armitage will be the one to top. He'd be like the incredible hulk ....

I don't know enough about Tenet's abilities to state whether we should have confidence in him at the Company or not. But I do know that Poppy, who has a bit of knowledge about the CIA, strongly recommended him to W.

But this Pew survey that you mentioned that I have in my hand here clearly shows that the weapons of mass destruction debacle has hurt our credibility to the point where Europeans -- they don't want to believe us anyway because of the press and all of that.

ALBRIGHT: Yes, but I heard you say last night that you now see that the -- you know, that we were all mistaken about the weapons of mass destruction.

I thought that they were there, and I think that that has hurt our credibility tremendously, and, in this Pew poll, they basically believe that the president and Prime Minister Blair misled everybody, which is terrible in terms of the credibility of the United States, and I...

O'REILLY: Right. It's awful.

FWIW, on Imus this morning, Howard Fineman said that he heard that the testimony Condi gave in private would be very helpful to the Bush administration if she were to go public with it. Then he said on the other hand it could be a trap to lure her in to attack her.

I defer to GWB's judgement on this, from what I understand Tenet goes back a ways with his dad. I think he knows him better than anything we know in the public.

Given some of the other people who go "back a ways with his dad," I'm not so sanguine.

So did everyone else. And this is where the John Dean's of the world, whose name is known by only poltical junkies anymore, will fail miserably. The American People are truly not interested in rehashing 9/11 over and over and over and turning it into a political fight. They're interested in making sure it never happens again.

Maybe if the Capitol gets hit next time, these sh*t-for-Senators will take this "game" a bit more seriously.
