The audio went out after he said Bush invading Iraq hurt the war on terror.....did someone hit the FCC bleep button?
To: faithincowboys
Good grief. Thompson was excellent, and contrary to your poor advice, point by point was the way to go.

Look at Clarke's face. What a self-centered smarmy pompous man. This guy has wanted his 15 minutes for a long time. You can tell. Let's see if he gets the whole 15 minutes.
Creepy guy.

As I said Monday morning, the smear of Bush was complete with the 60 min promos during Basketball on Sunday.
For years I have said it is the individual reporters and their employers of the NY elite media that need to be smeared.
Our war is with them, they should be destroyed and discredited.
We need to start as of yesterday!

Clarke is so out of there! Lehman just crushed him!
I noticed that Clarke didn't answer Lehman's questions.

Not very tough questioning thus far. They start to and then back away.

I'm getting the impression that Clarke is a dupe who has joined up with the less than adequate Kerry campaign with perhaps some promise of the future.Actually, cynic that I am, I believe the book deal was a bribe by another name a bribe to induce him to damage the Bush admin to coincide both with these hearing and the upcoming election. A disgruntled former employee with a huge ego is a perfect target for a bribe er, a book deal. Washington is awash in very big money from a variety of sources who want to defeat GWB. Look at the lengths the jihadists went to in Spain to defeat Aznar's party. We need to understand that there's more than one or two ways to make a "campaign contribution."

I missed something here.
He's being asked now that when he testified to someone else for six hours, why didn't he mention his concerns then and why did he wait for his book to come out?

Thanks. Lehman=awesome.
Next questioner: "Not only did you interview with us but you also spent more than 6 hours with the Congressional joint inquiry. I read your information and that's a very serious body, serious inquiry...not that we're not...I can't believe over 6 hours you never expressed any concern or doubt that the Bush Administration did not act with sufficient urgency...Did you have a list then of measures that should have been taken but weren't?"

What does any of this have to do with a 9-11 commission. This whole thing has become a big joke.
To: prairiebreeze
I might be wrong, but from what I understand, at the top of each hour, according to FCC rules, they have to identify themselves. I heard that on Rush once that he was mandated to take these breaks (although Rush's breaks are way too long)
To: Peach
Clarke - the Iraqi campaign/war has greatly undermined the war on terrorism.Clarke promoted the idea of preemption for terrorism. We went into Iraq to preempt the threat of Saddam's weapons getting into the hands of terrorists.
To: faithincowboys
'Big' Jim Thompson
used to be a tough SOB and was a good Governor considering he had to work with the Daley Dems, but what did they do here with this commission, give him two minutes to ask questions?
BTW, he is BIG. I once sat behind him at a Chi Bulls game during the Jordan era (I had row 5 seats!), he almost blocked out the sun. Thankfully the usher moved him court-side.
