I'm getting the impression that Clarke is a dupe who has joined up with the less than adequate Kerry campaign with perhaps some promise of the future.

Who is Thompson?, he is NAILING HIM!!!!! Thompson is a former RINO governor of Illinois, thru the 70's and 80's I believe.
To: PISANO
The 2002 statement will be played and analyed extensively on Fox. Other media will pick it up but not CNN et Co.
Today has been a demonstration of the fecklessness of this commission more than anything....

"I never thought I could agree with you. You hit it on the button...even the truth doesn't work to defeat liberalism. Too many people believe the lies, others could give a dam"
This surprises you? Did the people believe the truth about Clinton? Nothing's changed.
To: TomGuy; kristinn
Kristinn, co-leader of DC Chapter, went to the site of hearings and asked me to post this for him:On my lunch hour, I made some copies of the transcript of Clarke's August 2002 background briefing that was released by Fox News today and brought them over to the Hart Senate Office Building where the 9/11 Commission hearings are taking place.
The hearing was in lunch recess so I worked the room trying to get the transcript into the hands of as many reporters as I saw. They were very receptive when I described what it was I had. Only one reporter dismissed it as Clarke 'giving the administration line.' The rest were very interested in it.
I ran into a Fox News producer outside the room. She told me she had a copy and asked who I was with. I told her Free Republic.
I had to leave after that. I went over there figuring the lazy press wouldn't have it yet. That turned out to be true. Wish I could have stayed but I don't get paid to be a FReeper. EAGLES UP !!!

To: Just mythoughts
Excellent point about his voice, I noticed in 60 MINUTES clips it was kind of booming. Right now it's gotten very quiet and a bit tremulous.
He's backing off his statement in 2002 that Bush was informed all along the way. "When you're on the staff of the POS..." (missed the words, but along the lines that you lie if you have to?).
Thompson slammed him in closing, "I'm worried about a lot more than the 'tenor and the tone'..."

has anyone seen such a pompus a$$ in your life?????????
To: Indy Pendance
The chip on this guy's shoulder is as big as my house.
Did anyone see the blurb on Fox a little while ago, that this guy is one of the few WH officials who was allowed to carry a gun? A gun in this man's hands is a danger.
To: Indy Pendance
Clarke: Apparently what bothers you is the tenor and the tone of the briefing and it was meant to present the president in a favorable light..
Thompson: There's more than the tenor and the tone that bother me.
Simple Jamie up.

To: hillarynot
Thompson positively nailed Clarke after a big love-fest in the questioning 'til then. The audience actually laughed at Clarke. Thompson wound up on a good note, too. Bravo Governor Thompson for having a quick response time with the interview that came out today!
