That's why you have to be careful. The location of the error was correct, but the diagnosis was flawed.

Actually Abu Nidal took care of himself. Committed suicide.

I clipped this out of a Reuters story. Wasn't Kerrey refering to Clinton plan when he made the comment below? If so Reuters surely didn't make that clear.
Commission member Bob Kerrey, a former Democratic senator, zeroed in on what he said were severe shortcomings in the plan adopted by the Bush administration to fight bin Laden's al Qaeda organization just days before Sept. 11.
"I was briefed this morning on that plan. I would say fortunately for the administration it's classified because there's almost nothing in it," he said.

oh my god, ABC news top of the hour update fawns all over Clarke for his "passionate opening" where he apologized to the victim's families then goes right to Clinton administration seeing terrorism as urgent and Bush not so urgent with NO MENTION of the tape. The fix is in. Big shock.

Sheesh, why can't Fox simply wait until after his testimony so as to not force me to switch to CNN.

Clarke, 30 years veteran of sucking on the govt. teat, is the consummate bureaucrat.

Has there ever been an administration that has had to deal with so many real crises yet had so much resistance from the other party? Never. How I long for the old days when politics stopped at the borders. Where would we be today if the govt had to face this during WWII?

I know, prairie. sigh
Considering the opening, I'm wondering if AS A COMMITTEE, it was decided they would proceed as though FNC never played a tape of Clarke's contrasting words.
