UN administrators flee Kristallnacht | 23:46 | B92
PRISTINA -- Wednesday UN administrators have abandoned offices in the Kosovo towns of Gnjilane, Prizren and Pec, fleeing what one UNMIK official described to B92 as Kristallnacht.
Kristallnacht is under way in Kosovo, the official told B92 on condition of anonymity.
What is happening in Kosovo must unfortunately be described as a pogrom against Serbs: churches are on fire and people are being attacked for no other reason than their ethnic background, he added.
Serbs and UN officers have been the target of attacks by Kosovo Albanians during most of the day and night. The most dramatic withdrawal was from Belo Polje on the outskirts of Pec, where UNMIK officials, retreating with Serb residents, where forced to shoot Albanian assailants in self-defence.
The Serbian Orthodox seminary in Pec has been razed, and Albanians celebrated its destruction by setting fire to the local church., said the UN official.

I do understand what you mean. I think it "sunk in" already.
I think that Europe has woken up and is taking care of business in its immediate vicinity.

I think that Europe has woken up and is taking care of business in its immediate vicinity. How so? All I see are a bunch of hand-wringing wimps who are basically begging the terrorists not to hurt them again. The LAST thing to do when terrorism strikes is show any fear.

It's debatable whether the Spanish vote was an indication of their fear/appeasement instincts or was simply a reaction to being lied to by Anzar about Eta's involvement in the terrorist act. He was way too quick to point the finger in their direction, and it reeked of electioneeering. I think there's a good chance the incumbant would still be in office if he were straight with the electorate about Al Qaeda's (probable) role in the attack.

well I think the terrorism in South Eastern Europe is being eliminated with this current Kosovo situation.
There have been a number of small events in Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Greece over the past year that in total are curbing the threat of terrorism in the region.
To: thoughtomator
sad sad indeed.
well US should do away with the Cliton legacy I think.
To: thoughtomator
Indeed. Thanks for the ping...

Clinton's shining legacy.
Yeah, we need the UN.

You underestimate the capacity of the socialists (in any country) for duplicity, for making false allegations for electoral gain, and for using emotions like fear to win votes.
JMHO.

Once again, the UN lead sheep to slaughter.

God help these poor people, and God help the rest of Europe. This is what's coming down the pike at them.

I don't underestimate the socialists at all. But the false allegations in this case were made by Anzar. .....He should've told the truth -- that he had no idea who committed the terrorist act. Blaming Eta without even a ounce of proof was not a wise move.

I think we should all agree and demand that the current US administration should do away with Clinton legacy.
is there a consensus on this issue?
To: Makedonski
Best way to do away with the Klintoon legacy is to do whatever it takes to keep the HBIC out of the White House.

Nearly all of the hundreds of thousands of "ethnic Albanians" reported killed in ethnic cleansing before we bombed Serbia are alive today. The stats were LIES.
One hundred per cent of the Serbs killed by American bombs and Albanian Muslims remain dead.

As we all know Clinton put US troops in Kosovo and
if one wanted to reverse his legacy one would withdraw US troops from there.
So I think the smart thing for Bush would be to withdraw troops from Kosovo and tell the Europeans to take care of their own backyard.

My impression is that it was a "Look at what getting involved in the Iraq war did to us!" thing. I saw the footage of the rallies/protests, where people were holding up "Paz" (Peace) signs. They didn't want revenge, just to wave the white flag.
To: Makedonski
We should withdraw from ALL of Europe and help usher on it's inevitable collapse!

Quick, someone ask John Kerry if he would appoint Wesley Clark to his cabinet to restore order by bombing the Christian SERBS again!
