Freepers nevertheless insist of maintaining the belief that the CA Supreme Court is filled with left-wing kooks.I suspect many people confuse the CA Supreme Court with the federal Ninth Circuit.

Busted? I thought they let you guys live on the streets out there.

retraction has to be EARNED, it can't be bought with just one decision. That's it on the money. Moreover, the courts literally dragged their feet on this ruling; even tossing out a motion for a suspension of these illegal "marriages" based on a frickin' semicolon in the papers.
If it'd been a mayor handing out guns, they'd have shut him down in a heartbeat and that mayor would be cooling his heels in jail. That alone makes plain the bias of this mockery we call the California judiciary.

The results of the stay, the streets of SF will be filled with gay protesters this weekend.
To: confused1
Then there's all the tax money coming in from Hotels, restaurants, shops etc. Many of these people came from other states or cities. They celebrated in the city afterwards. And all this was timed perfectly between the 3 day holiday and the Mardi Gras. I believe that Mardi Gras is one of the biggest vacation times for gays. They normally would go to New Orleans. But Newsome diverted them to SF this time. I really believe that. I wonder if there was a noticeable impact in New Orleans during Mardi Gras due to this. Yes, i am serious.

Well here in New York they make us wear funny hats (but you can take them off in the subway.)

Live on the streets? My annual property taxes could buy a lot of fly over territory.
To: William McKinley
Today they are not quite to gay in San Francisco

Wouldn't be surprised if the CA supremes eventually decide Newsom is correct.

No doubt. It is crazy out there (here too.)
When I lived there (early 70s) There was still a working class that still lived in the city and county of SF and there were eve "ghettos." Parts of the Sunset were low rent. And I bet if land vaules deflate they will take their own sweet time in bring your taxes back down.

I wonder how many conventions have been lost - that's where a lot of money comes from. Newsom has to explain to the court what part of "Marriage is between a man and woman" doesn't he understand.
He has to explain why and how city officials were authorized to do this. Two points to consider, especially in this court where a semi-colon held up this decision: (1) government documents (the applications) are being altered (2) blood tests are being waved.

No... Out here they make you "join" a 12-step "support group" for "fundaMentalist Conservatives," because EVERYTHING is based on "group-think" and "lock-step" with Lockear!!! (grin)

Ooh, i didn't know blood tests were being waved. That's very important. Why hasn't the media mentioned that?
WRT Newsome, i imagine it's all about his future in politics. He sure didn't pay his dues, but with this, he'll probably move up to a statewide position asap.

shush...do not give the city council any ideas please.

Now, here's a real irony.
The court, I believe, has no power to enforce?
Now, will Newsom (whatever) obey the toothless court... whereas he DISobeyed THE LAW, which (theoretically) HAS means of enforcement.
Wouldn't that be ironic? Don't you think?
