The Prince of Tides- Bush ads, Kerry ads, the Tides Foundation, and so much more...
various FR links

I heard Rush play the sound bites of the women all saying the exact same thing. I thought I'd search for those sounds bites tonight when I came across this trail of links from Colleen Kelly and Peaceful Tomorrows back to John Kerry himself.
Here's some quick links if you want to pass this info along without all of my commentary:
Lots of info about the Tides Foundation-
The "outraged" faces we've seen on television the past two days are more than they seem. Family members of 9/11 victims have been interviewed ad nauseum on
television and in
newspapers far and wide--Among those 9/11 family members quoted in newspapers and in television interviews across the nation are people like Rita Lasar and Colleen Kelly. Both Lasar and Kelly are leaders of a group called
September 11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, which on it's surface sounds innocuous enough. But when the connections are peeled away like the layers of an onion, the true picture emerges. Peaceful Tomorrows is one of several projects sponsored by the
Tides Center of Pennsylvania. But who is the Tides Center? Known as the Tides Center for Pennsylvania, formerly the Tides Center for Western Pennsylvania, it is none other than a creation of the
Tides Foundation and Center, headquartered in San Francisco, and two
Pennsylvania-based foundations -- the Vira Heinz Endowment and the Howard Heinz Endowment-- chaired by
Teresa Heinz Kerry, heir to the Heinz food company fortune and wife of Democrat presidential contender Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts.
I've been ranting in my blog for the last year, but this seemed too good to keep to myself. If you're interested:
The Ruckus Society, which received over $200,000 in Tides money between 1999 and 2002, was begun in 1995 to train activists in violent protest against biotechnology, globalization and the World Bank.
It just shows that the Dems know they can't survive an election based upon the will to defend this country instead of letting it be destroyed.
Many new links to corruption:
I just spoke with Mike. He will not be silenced even if it upsets the union gang. We cannot forget 9-11.
Check this out. Does Whouley have ties to John Huang?
People that protest this ad would rather forget about 9/11. Guess what? It did happen and during Bush's presidency. Not only does he have a RIGHT to reference the event, he has an OBLIGATION to do so...
These people put their own political agenda ahead of the country's safety.
Doyle and Willett--

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1092760/posts APOLOGY (and challenge) to reporter Dick Stevenson from the NY TIMES
dfu | 3-7-04 | Doug from Upland
The original was pulled by the Admin Moderator as soon as I heard from Dick. We tried to set the record straight as soon as possible.
Now, when can we expect the NY TIMES to do a real investigative piece on Sept. 11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows?

You are an absolute gem for putting in this much effort and doing such a terrific job of pulling together and summarizing the relevant links into one reference link.
Could you please add me to your ping list for your reference threads.
Thanks.

dfu, Hannity show | 3-8-04 | dfu
Well, here is a thread in which I decided to poke around and see what I could find out about the "outraged" relatives:
9/11 Victims' Kin Angered by Bush Ads (Big time media bias alert)
Rush and Sean have done a great job of comparing the comments of the various 9/11 widows, etc. The similarity of their phrases (and the same illogic of them) shows that this is almost certainly a Democratic or leftist plant. And can ANYONE explain to me why Bush's being "in a classroom reading to children" when the attack occurred is such a damnable act? Are these the same people who said "Bush knew" and "Bush should have connected the dots?" And when he did - in Iraq - and took care of a tyrant who was destabilizing the region (a pretty big dot, if you ask me), didn't these same people object and protest Bush's "warmongering?"

Veterans for Peace, Inc. (VFP) -
Phooey on them, too -
Membership in Veterans for Peace is not limited to veterans with honorable discharges. Associate memberships are open to family members and may soon be expanded to include anyone who supports their principles. Contact them at (202) 347-6780, 1511 K Street NW, Suite 525; Washington, DC 20005; email:
VFP@igc.org.
There's been two addresses found for them - don't know (yet) for sure whether these are old, new or both current

Washington, DC 20005
(202) 347-6780
fax: 202-347-6781

One thing kinda interesting (maybe) - The 733 15th Street address sits smack among a number of foreign embassies

The 733 15th Street address is the "Woodward Building" in D.C., and "VFP" apparently shares building space with some interesting neighbors, among -
Volunteer Coordinator National Organization for Women (NOW), Second Floor
International Labor Rights Fund. (Human Rights and Labor Laws)
Gray Panthers
American Civil Liberties Union National Prison Project, Suite 620
Code Pink Women's Pre-emptive Strike For Peace, #507 (how convenient)

"Veterans for Peace" is listed as an organization that has had direct contact with the International Action Center - you know, the outfit apparently founded by Ramsey Clark
Towards the top, after wading through the "mission" gobbley goop -
Organizations opposed to sanctions
"The following list covers a number of groups that have organized some form of opposition to sanctions against Iraq, especially those based in countries that were part of the alliance that waged war on Iraq in early 1991. The list is by no means complete, but consists of those groups that have been in direct contact with the International Action Center. The activities carried out by the organizations described here cover a wide variety of approaches to opposing sanctions: providing humanitarian assistance, organizing political opposition, publishing books and other educational material, and taking direct action. They illustrate both the growing opposition to sanctions and the variety of tactics to fight them."
(and what a list it is)
("Veterans for Peace" is shown using the 5011 "K" St. NW, #525 Washington address here)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
and most interesting, down towards the bottom -
"IGC Internet is a project of the Tides Center, a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt organization."
And finally, Veterans for Peace has a listing in the San Francisco Bay Area Progressive Directory -

Hmm, okay.
