Anyone know who Stoen is? I had never even heard of this guy!
To: LdSentinal
Lungren running for Congress? What part of the state? Is this the same Dan Lungren who's been around forever, or another member of the family?
To: socal_parrot
Each and every one of the votes counted so far are absentee ballots.

The good news is Phil Angelides, the State Treasurer, is toast. His tax increase philosophy is the centerpiece of his 2006 gubernatorial bid and with Proposition 56 going down in flames even in the Bay Area, there is little appetite among rank and file Democrats to ANY sort of major tax increases. That's been an orthodoxy of Democratic faith here even though its a political loser. I'd like to see a Democratic politician come up with a package of tax cuts to cushion the inevitable budget cuts here.

The very same Lungren ending his political career on a even worse note.
The 3rd district is in the Sacramento Valley.

I guess they don't like a carpetbagger and loser.

I Googled him and best I can tell he is a Dep. Dist. Attn. from Mendocino County who ran for State Senator as a Dem in 1998. He also lost his six-year-old daughter in the People's Temple mass suicide.

Very early, but B-1 Bob is going down in flames against Dana Rohrbacher. I have mixed feelings about this. I really think Bob Dornan is mentally ill, therefore I am sad that he is not in congress anymore. I used to love when he did the special orders and turned red in the face appearing to be on the verge of having a stroke.
On the other hand, he couldn't beat Loretta Sanchez in the rematch earlier and it is sour grapes for him to be taking on Dana.
To: BookmanTheJanitor
Californians are wising up. I have to say the Spirit Of Proposition 13 is still alive and well here. Politicians go about proposing tax hikes at their peril. They couldn't even sneak it through by fooling folks with a fake head accountability language.

Lungren is still a million times better than Mary Ose.
To: So Cal Rocket
lots of voting machine problems this morning, KFI has a long report between 7 and 9 this morning about all the problem
To: So Cal Rocket
Yep, and Kaloogian's home turf! Bill Jones is far ahead right now because Fresno is one of the early counties to be reporting. Once San Diego and Orange come in Kaloogian will see a jump. At least that is what I am telling myself.
