While we're waiting for polls to close at 8pm, CaliFreepers can free to share your votes here if you haven't already.

Question: How much does John Edwards pulling out (as reported by AP) help us with polls still open in California? :-)

Turnout is super crappy today. I just got back from voting about 30 minutes ago. I would guess maybe 15-20% turnout at my precinct. No line whatsoever to vote. People just frankly don't seem to care.

Unfortunately excellent weather in the leftist enclave of the San Francisco Bay Area.

I'm leaving shortly to gather with fellow Republicans to watch the results, but keep this thread humming and post results as they rolls in (hate to post & run, but hey... ;-)).

Any late predictions on the bond measures? Last I heard, they think they are all going down, even the Arnold supported ones.

The voters are either apathetic, or cranky in CA this year.

Has anybody heard any news on what's happening with the B-1 Bob vs Dana Rohrbacher race? Any polls. That seems to be about the only really interesting congressional primary around.

Turnout seemed relatively high here (Rosamond), even with all the "sunshine" <:). There were lines at both sign in tables and all 10? machines were occupied.

It'll be interesting to see what the turnout for the American Independent party is. California voters who are not registered as members of a political party are allowed to choose to vote in the primary of some of the parties (Dem, Rep, AI). I'm registered "nonpartisan" and I had the following experience today:

POLL WORKER: "Are you registered with a party?"

ME: "No, I'm an independent."

Getting to the machine, I realized I'd been handed a card authorizing me to voter in the American Independent primary. If I'm not the only guy in the state who experienced the independent/Independent confusion, AI may have a considerably larger turnout than usual.

Me? I now feel fully qualified for that move to Palm Beach.

The only good side is that my polling place had 5 booths for Democrats and only two for Republicans. When I got there they had two Dems and two Repubs. Repubs (hopefully) are motivated.

On the way out I was stopped by a gay guy doing a poll about gay marriage (I live in Hollyweird). We had a long conversation (me sitting in my sports car ... he standing in the street). In the end he decided not to let me sign his petition. :)

I'm anxious to hear about the propositions...on the Secy of State website it says "N" for "not passing" next to eat prop, but there are no numbers yet...is that "N" valid, that that's the trend, or is it meaningless and just happens to be there until the numbers are posted?

I assume that in the absence of data, the Prop fails, since it must overcome the 50% hurdle.
