What now? Conference? When does the president get to lose another 1 or 2% of his base (by signing this)? Soon?

The House will vote against it and it will be taken out in conference.

Isn't this what Neal Knox said should happen so we can kill the bill?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1088432/postsYes, S. 1805 is in danger of being loaded up with anti-gun amendments in the Senate. But anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that the Senate is overloaded with anti-gunners and has been for several years. The only way to get the bill passed is to get it back to the House, where it can be cleaned up or killed.

When Bush came out in support of the extension on the AWB, it became a done deal. No surprise here, just more disappointment.
To: Beelzebubba
The House won't pass this. No way is Rove that stupid.

Hopefully, it is DOA in the House. We are really going to find out if the GOP lawmakers in the house are committed to the conservative cause. I would think this is the last law Bush would want to sign this year. He signed the campaign finance thinking the SC would toss much of it out. He was wrong. Never go against your gut instincts or your base.
To: Beelzebubba
If Bush signs this the Republicans are finished this fall. It will make it very easy for me to vote Libertarian.
To: Beelzebubba
Its DOA in the House. Tom Delay has promised the AWB extension will never make it to the floor.

Here is what I predict what will happen.
The Liability bill will pass with all amendments intact.
The conference committee leaves them in, Bush signs.
Then activists judges will declare the liability part unconstitutional, leaving all gun control parts intact.
