Well Knox is right. The question now is will the bill pass the Senate? If it does, it goes to the house, they pass a clean version and it goes to conference. Hopefully a clean bill comes out of conference, and when it goes back to the Senate, I don't believe amendments are in order. That'w where we'll see who the real friends of gun owners are.

Hopefully, it is DOA in the House. We are really going to find out if the GOP lawmakers in the house are committed to the conservative cause. I would think this is the last law Bush would want to sign this year. He signed the campaign finance thinking the SC would toss much of it out. He was wrong. Never go against your gut instincts or your base.

Those of us who have been in this fight for gun rights for over 30 years TOLD the Republican party what we would do if this should happen. If those Republicans, and there was more than 2, because John Warner voted with Schumer and Feinstein, would stick the knife in our back and twist it, the entire Republican party can take a hike. I will no longer vote for ANY Republican as long as I live. I am DONE with this party. You don't let this crap pass at all! You don't say, "oh we'll take care of it in conference" because it will pass and Bush will sign it. I only hope enough of us stick together to wipe the Republicans out of power for the next 10000 years. It was the GUN vote that gave the Republicans ANYTHING AT ALL -THOSE MUTHER F'ING INGRATES!!!

Here is what I predict what will happen.

The Liability bill will pass with all amendments intact.

The conference committee leaves them in, Bush signs.

Then activists judges will declare the liability part unconstitutional, leaving all gun control parts intact.

The House already voted for their version of the bill last year. Their version was clean. The next step is the conference committee.

but I want those 2 repubs who voted for the extension to be punished.

More like ten of them. Including Jawn 'Putz' Wahnuh (P-VA), who is probably unpunishable. I doubt he will run again when his term comes up in 4 years.

There are probably more than 2 Republicans who voted for this.

There's probably three or four, and I'd bet my life savings that Arlen Specter was one of them.

Anyone got an extra $1500 lying around? I need to pick up an M1A before they run out.

That's what you said about CFR, nea increase, etc.

No further comments at this time until I see what the current occupant of the white house will do when presented to him.

Then the House should make quick work of this and send it back before the election, right?

. . . . unless . . .
