This thread kinda ticks me off. Why? Because just about every other thread regarding the Oscars gets deleting on the grounds that this thread exists.
Problem is, if you wanted to keep up with this darned thread, you might as well just watch the Oscars! (Which I *don't* want to do!)
What we need is some Freeper to take notes and post a summary thread after the articles are over. Just a bulleted list of highlights we'd care about. Not who won what - we'll get that from all the major news sources. I'm talking about who SAID what. I wanna know which stars suffered from foot-in-mouth disease and which stars snuck in something that would raise the hackles of the rest of the audience (i.e. something *conservative*!)

OK... I can do without these glasses, but still, I think Liv looks gorgeous.
So my personal best dressed list, so far, includes:
Liv Tyler
Catherine Zeta Jones
Marcia G H (don't like her hair tho)
Rene Z
... And Angelina Jolie chose a very nice dress which deserves an achievement award, at least.
The worst dresses include Nicole's, the parachute blue nightmare, Joan Rivers' daughter's (if she counts)...
I'm missing a few in both categories, I think.

Annie Lenox up! I would love for once to hear ENYA sing live. She did a song for the first LOTR.
Enya, if your a secret FRer and read this, please consider this request next year.

May I remind you 1992's Best Picture, The Silence of The Lambs, was released in March of that year.

He was one of the nicest people I have ever met.I can believe it, he had his heart in the right place. The closet I got to him was seeing him in Bien Hoa in 1969.

We said....we don't want MTV to get any of our monthly fee. DN said...we know what you watch and if you do not watch MTV you reduce their profits....the more viewers MTV has ...the more MTV can charge for commericals....so by not watching MTV you have an effect. Now Julie...you know I love you but that is just wrong.
I sell Dish Network, and that is just not true.
Dish and Viacom are fighting now about Dish having to carry some of their (Viacom's) lousy programming just to be able to broadcast CBS.
Dish has no choice but to sell you the programming in tiers.
PS.....they don't keep tabs on what you're watching either.

They smashed Micheal Moore! I liked that! Michael getting stepped on by a several ton creature was kind of... well... neat.
Notice that the "several ton creature" was, basically, an elephant. Ironic. That GOP symbol knows who to step on.

Are you offering to take notes on the whole show and post them? I didn't think so...
To: LisaMalia
The people behind the scenes aren't stars. They aren't "cool" and should remain silent while their betters pose for the cameras.

Hey, stop whining! I don't watch the Oscars either, but I get all I need from viewing this thread. It's a Free Republic tradition. Deal with it.
