Ref: "Having personally experienced the lack of security at our Canadian border I can assure you that it is not a case of if but when we will have another 9/11 incident." Joel (Denver, CO)"
The Canadians are using all of their efforts to keep ugly GUN-Totting Americans out of Canada. You cannot expect them to also keep terrorists from using Canada as a gateway to the USA. And Certainly they cannot be of any help in protecting our borders.

YOu don't have to research this: terrorists HATE Mexican prisons and are not at all afraid of the Canadian ones.>>>>>>>>>
What would terrorists *know* about mexican jails, as long as they can find mexican CONSULS to smuggle them into the USA ???......
http://www.manews.org/0204muslimsuse.html Muslims Use Mexico to Enter U.S. Illegally
While the U.S. government wages war against terrorism on foreign soil, America's poorly guarded Mexican border continues to be used as a covert entry portal by international gangs that smuggle Arabs into the U.S.
In November last year, Mexico's consul in Lebanon, Imelda Ortiz Abdala, was arrested on charges that she helped a smuggling ring move Arabs illegally into the U.S. from Mexico. Also arrested in connection with the smuggling operation was Salim Boughader Mucharrafille, who ran a Lebanese café in Tijuana, Mexico.
U.S. security officials say Boughader, 28, is suspected of smuggling at least 300 Arabs into the U.S. between 1999 and 2002. He had been arrested previously for smuggling and served 10 months of a one-year sentence.

The state legislators who push for granting licenses to illegals (always Democrat, for some reason) always claim they're doing it for everyone's safety. >>>>>>>
Sure be nice to know how many different names & addresses were on those SIXTY-THREE DL's the 15 terrorists had.
GWB should of stepped up long ago with some fed. regulations on DL's, these states wouldn't still be arguing (spending money) to give illegals licenses.

I noted that. I'm for the states exercising all rights stated under the Constitution (especially governors telling the feds to stuff mandates), but cooperation on IDs is sorely needed. This one time when the excuse of "national security" would be warranted is shuffled to the side in favor of business as usual. Meanwhile the terrorists continue planning the next big hit, laughing at our inability to govern ourselves effectively.

Agreed........the feds (GWB) should have *ruled* on DL & 'acceptance of ANY foreign ID's right after 9-11. Had they, this would be TWO major problems the states would not be divided on right now.
I guess with your 'foreign ID' you can board planes & visit the INS in our federal buildings, etc., & the states still issuing DL to illegals *could be legalizing* the next batch of terrorists.
Not addressing just these two issues, leaves a major hole in any "Homeland Security".

You got that right. Did you see in an earlier article where Afghanistani Taliban representatives actually confronted a senator just outside the chamber (just prior to 9-11-01)? They had the gall to harass Dana Rorbacher for lack of support even though he was quite the patsy for Arab causes up till then. To his credit he gave them hell about blowing up the giant Buddhist monuments.
Rorbabacher has to go. The point is that these creeps use their money and influence to get anywhere they want. I know of an instance where five Chinese Army generals were nosing around Clinton's Oval Office after hours because of their sponsor's high contributions. Sickness all around.

I have a friend who is from Morocco. She has many friends from Morocco. She told me that they all come through the Mexican Border. It is very easy.

Penny, ever since you posted this, it's one of those replies that has stayed in the back of my mind...with worry.
I am wondering if your situation has improved or what?

You are so kind to me! Yes, we moved on July 21 and am trying to sell the house that's been my home for 14 years. In the last two months, two Mexican men have been shot to death (drug-gang-related) within a mile of my former place. (No apprehensions to date, either, and NO INFO on whether the men were illegal.)
When I asked myself to consider the value of my house on the market today, I answered myself with the following observation: "No, the house can only continue to decline; it can never gain the value it had a year ago." I predict the subdivision will look like the Oak Cliff barios (south of Dallas) in five years.
Wishing you the best as always, Penny

We have a population of over 200,000 (mostly illegal hispanics) here in Arkansas and growing by the day. They aren't discouraged.
If this can happen to you, Penny, it can happen to any of us. Our elected elite are selling out this country. I never thought I'd feel such dismay, or helplessness.
Thank you for your reply, and best of luck selling your house. Much deserved happiness in your new home.
Regards and bump!

As American troops are now directed to help seal out the Iraqi border from "terrorists" and "foreign invasion", NOTHING has changed at America's own border since this article was published.
How many and WHO have illegally invaded our country since?
We have NO idea, do we?
To: F16Fighter
How many and WHO have illegally invaded our country since? Considering the #s for 2002, when around 8,000 of the illegals arrested at the border were special interest aliens (from nations affiliated with terrorism), I suspect the #s aren't pretty. Official estimates say that only between 1/3 and 1/5 of those who make the attempt (to cross the border illegally) actually get apprehended, and if those # are accurate then at least 100,000 of these "special interest" aliens have made it safely across since 9/11/01.
