John Kerry to strike back at "infidelity"-coverage, will appear on Imus-Show

Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry is set to strike back at the "infidelity"-coverage by "Drudge Report" joining Don Imus on his Friday morning talk show.

"Drudge Report" had first broken the news of intense US media investigation into the two-year relationship of Kerry and a young woman, which is said they had since Spring 2001. The woman is said to remain at an undisclosed location in Africa.

yes, his response to Imus' asking "..well if it turns out to be true after denying it, he's dead.." to which Dodd mumbled something about it wouldn't hurt him that much......

That was not what I expected....he didn't speak up.....

Stike back, eh? Kerry simply denied... something, not sure what? Did he deny the allegation or the alligator? Not sure, heheehe. I have since seen later stories from sources other than Drudge, confirming that there currently are investigation by news organizations into these stories, and that Clark's, Gore's, and Dean's recent actions reflect the reality of this scandal. Imus said "...if he lied, he's dead". Yes, for once Don Imus, that old turkey-necked curmudgeon, is right.

what those at the French looking ____undergorund website think.....

Confirmation of Drudge on key points regarding Kerry allegations

Edited on Fri Feb-13-04 09:39 AM
Like it or not, Drudge's story has been proven accurate on several counts.

1. The woman allegedly involved was a young woman.

2. She has been identitifed as Alex Polier, and her parents have confirmed that Kerry was "involved" with her in what they perceived as an inappropriate way in the past few years (recently).

3. She DOES work for AP.

4. She IS in Africa (Kenya) right now.

5. According to news reports she has declined any comment (she has NOT denied the story).

6. Kerry has responded to the story (Drudge said he was preparing a response)

(Sorry - you must cut and paste the whole address for some reason)

IN my opinion Kerry's answer on Imus was a nondenial denial.

It remains to be seen whether Miss Polier was an intern at AP or for Kerry or an intern at all.

But so far I would have to say most of Drudge's story has held up to scrutiny.

Can an affair be proved? Who the hell knows.

He won't. He will take the "it is a private thing between me and my family, I have sinned in my heart" line, the media will immediately draw a comparison between that and Bush's refusal to discuss his partying days and the whole thing will be swept away. Not saying it should, but it will.

I would wager that Kerry, Edwards and even Imus knew what was going to be on Drudge in advance.

I have a new name for Kerry:
Ho Chi Kerry

...but in this case, perhaps we should pronounce it Hoo-chy Kerry

Now this on Polier:

New JFK hit by scandal

From BRIAN FLYNN
in New York

PRESIDENTIAL hopeful John Kerry was branded a “sleazeball” last night by the parents of a young woman he allegedly tried to woo.

Alex Polier, 24, was named as the woman at the centre of a scandal that threatens to damage Democrat Kerry’s bid for the White House.

snip

Journalist Alex was in Kenya last night refusing to comment.

Keep in mind Kerry's slippery answer a couple of weeks ago about the Botox issue.

He was on a radio talk show and, when the host said there are reports of Botox treatments, Kerry said "I haven't heard it. No, don't know about it". Kerry was obviously DENYING HE HAD HEARD THE REPORTS, not denying he got Botox treatments. But the MediaCrats dutifully reported that he had denied using Botox.

Same thing here. Not really an answer.

I'm in Kenya so that's how I'm hearing this stuff -- and its from reliable sources.

Wowzers! Freepers all over the world, digging out the truth.

I agree with other posters, I'd rather Kerry be made to explain and justify his heinous behaviour after returning from Viet Nam.

It is obvious from Alex Polier's AP stories that she is of the liberal persuasion. I can't imagine she will cooperate with anything that hurts a lying, cheating, adulterer if he is a Democrat candidate. To do that she would have to have integrity ...

Yes, Imus is quirky. I am surprised he didn't just bluntly come out and ask him, "so you're denying the affair, right?" instead of these softballs.

If Kerry would lie about Botox treatments, don't you think he would lie about an affair? He also wants people to associate him with Clinton and JFK (the real one). I wouldn't be surprised if Kerry's camp leaked this story now because they knew it would come out anyway and didn't want a fall bombshell. He may have been telling the truth when he said he wasn't worried about it. The real story to be had is not this one woman, but if there are others. If it's just this one, it may be containable from their perspective. My gut tells me there's much more than one.

To focus on who he's sleeping with diminishes the great body of evidence of his lack of fitness for the office. Greatly disagree with that statement. The "it's only about sex" line doesn't fly with me.

I've got to wonder about a man who is married to one of the richest women in the world and running for the Presidency CHOOSING to risk it all and have an affair.

Why would someone who clearly has it all risk it on a fling? Again, I doubt he was raped by the women. He made a conscious choice to be unfaithful.

I would call that reckless. I would call it an act of a megalomaniac. I would wonder about this man's decison-making ability.

I agree. Ostensibly, a woman who speaks 5 languages, manages a multi-million trust and who seems contactful and assertive would not tolerate this behavior. On the other hand, she was previously married to a Senator and may have the ultimate desire to be in the White House.

Time will tell. They have only been married since 1995. She may be strongly attached or dependent upon him, but this I doubt. For him, he fits a pattern. He is a man who marries women "who can take care of him"--IN this instance two heiresses. The pattern for him may be a maternal one with Theresa. Many such men are flagrantly promiscuous even though their marriage lacks much chemistry. This is hard to say, but he has the incipient pattern at least.

The Dems have three camps vying for control of the party: Clintons, anti-Clintonians via Kennedy/Kerry, and the radical communists led by Dean.

The Clintons just fried Dean and is in the process of blowing up Ho Chi Kerry, ironically with a tactical bimbo eruption.

I don't think Kerry's camp released this (too risky), but I do think it's an internal Dem squabble. I take it that when he said there was nothing there, he was arrogantly saying that there was not enough evidence hanging around to convince his audience of it (the evidence is apparently in Africa). I don't believe for a minute that he was saying he hadn't had a sexual relationship with this woman/women.
