CORNYN HIGHLIGHTS HIS
IMMIGRATION REFORM BILL
AT SENATE HEARING
Senator John Cornyn joined his colleagues on the Immigration, Border Security and Citizenship subcommittee Thursday for a hearing to examine President Bush's immigration principles and much-needed immigration reform. During the hearing, chaired by Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.), Cornyn discussed legislation he introduced in July, The Border Security and Immigration Reform Act (S.1387), which largely mirrors the President's immigration reform proposals.
http://cornyn.senate.gov/ Steven Law - Deputy Labor Secretary claims this is t o insure American worker's first and gave us yet another catchphrase:
"Temporary Foreign Worker's"
http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/opa/OPA2003894.htm Eduardo Aguirre of DHS
Citizenship and Immigration Services
All about Immigration
This is not amnesty bu it does give potential citizenship
The oxymoron of the day!
This will not be at the expense of Legal Immigrants
What about Americans? ED?
Then he mentioned the "FEES" this will bring in...today's highlight ALL about the Benjamins!

If I hear "Undocumented Worker" one more time...SCREAM!
Would someone get the transcript when this is over so I can count the times it is used?
Note:Also look at all the people in the gallery behind the panel
And today's quote:
Immigration Laws that make me proud
-Bush
Asa said he wants Vincente's cooperation for the "Repatriation of Mexico"
the program has DISincentive to come here illegally
employer's 'should' report illegals
ICE which is under Law's jurisidiction
Asa's states:
8 million illegals
40% have visa 'over stays'
Tripled border agents and hogtied their hands IMO
And new monitors at the borders, air etc. for tracking (how about ankle bracelets?)
My question of the day folks:
When our President said 2 million + jobs will be created this year, is THIS what he was referring to?
Would someone post a link to ICE?

Ah found it
During the opening of a new ICE Attaché office in Bern, Switzerland, Michael J. Garcia, the Department of Homeland Securitys (DHS) Assistant Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), returned a Luger pistol that had been stolen from a Swiss museum in 1996 and was recently recovered by ICE agents in the United States.

To me the important main theme of today's hearing is Nix the Feds and give the support to local law enforcement ie:
Sheriff, Border Agent etc...Senator Craig agreed
Senator Craig
Fair Supports his co-sponsorship and asks for thanks to him!
S. 1906 - The Homeland Security Enhancement Act of 2003
BUT FAIR opposes these on Immigration:
Craig is a co-sponsor on the first two proposals ans should 'not' be but on the last they say tell him thanks!
S. 1645 - The Agricultural Job, Opportunity, Benefits, and Security Act of 2003 (AgJOBS)
S. 1545 - Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2003DREAM Act
S. 8 - Educational Excellence for All Learners Act of 2003
Fair's recommendations on all of Craig's report card here:
http://capwiz.com/fair/bio/sponsortrack/?id=206 He stated local law enforcement in Ariz. is frustrated with the Bush proposal.
He co-sponsor's a bill with Kennedy that asks for the circular worker's program and within 360 days illegals can gain permanent status!
{Kennedy by the way, as the rest of the dems were held up and didn't make these hearings}
He lauded organized labor and how it has changed towards GW programs.

Demetrios Papademetriou of the Migration Policy Institute is trying for the Have a heart approach while telling us why deportation is not a solution. Sounds too nauseating to watch.
Has there been anyone on there yet that speaks for 70% of us who oppose any sort of guest worker plan, amnesty by whatever name, or any other giveaway to illegal aliens?
Senator Chambliss Immigration Subcommittee Chairman
FAIR's report card on him:
They agree with him on these and also oppose the following and say thanks!:
Amnesty
S. 1645 - The Agricultural Job, Opportunity, Benefits, and Security Act of 2003 (AgJOBS)
S. 1545 - Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2003DREAM Act
S. 8 - Educational Excellence for All Learners Act of 2003
He also gets hi-ratings from FAIR on GW:
http://capwiz.com/fair/bio/sponsortrack/?id=197 He stated empahetically how the "Coyotes" are a competing business now and when the local police/sheriff pick up illegals, the INS will not pick them up in his state, he's tried!
Stated their is a Task Force backlog
I say get all of us to help them take care of it!!!
This is a good Senator to write for us!
He said we need to FIX the current laws NOW and do that first before ANY other new proposals are even considered.
The President's proposal should only be used as a "Base" to begin with for any workable laws!
I say screw the Federal level and let local authorities do the work! And quit tying their hands behind their backs with enforcing these laws!
