According to a new poll, only 15 per cent of us would vote for the President

If there are only 15% in Canada who would vote for President Bush, maybe he'll get 85% of the vote here! Since when should ANY country care how another country would vote in the other's presidential election? That's pretty arrogant, if you ask me.

It's probably much higher than 15%, but the rest of the people who would vote for Bush have already moved down here to escape the high taxes and low temperatures found north of the border.

"....the Bush administration, viewed by the bulk of the Canadian public as overly >>>[religious]<<< and conservative."

I believe the real energy behind "Bush hating" is anti-Christian bigotry. If you listen carefuly to their rants you will always hear a phrase like "right wing christian" "fundamentalists" "religious right" The phrase is always used in a derogatory sence. It is used as a term of derision. If you listen to them speak they spit the words out like some kind of racial slur.

When the demagogues of the left fire up the crowd with "We will take back this country from them" rhetoric; the 'them' is not really Republicans but people with tradtional religious values.

I'm having a hard time taking seriously a people who think a beaver is a "proud" and "noble"

And the only coins with a beaver on both sides. The nickel with HRH Queen Elizabeth II on one side and the "common" beaver on the other.

As one of the 15% thanks for the encouragement. At least I have 85% of the population that I can argue with.

"Yes, we're cavilling, but clearly there is something about George W. Bush that gets under the skin of Canadians."

Indeed. He is principled, and they are not.

By the way, who cares how Canadians would vote in one of OUR elections? Not me.

Canadian wussies in pink tu-tus who sniff socialist buttholes and think it's flowers in spring don't like President Bush.

Can I stand the shock. Be careful, Mr. and Mrs. Hockey Puck Face. We might send the Boy Scouts north to take away your curling brooms.

(DISCLAIMER: The preceding announcement does not apply to my Canadian buddies who are armed to the teeth and like walleye fishing.)

I would hope that Canada, France, Jordan, and the UN hate our leader.

If they like him, I'll worry.

AIV, thank you for your service to our country, and welcome to Free Republic - I think you're gonna like it here :-)

As far as Canada, I wonder how they'd feel if 3,000 Canadians had been murdered in less than three hours by Muslim fanatics. Would they have pulled themselves up by their bootstraps the way we did, or would they have whined to US to help them ?

BTW - I am of French-Canadian descent, and I've always felt a kinship to Canada. My mother was born in Canada to a first-generation American of French-Canadian descent (my grandfather). My grandmother, born and raised in Quebec, became a U.S. citizen when she married my grandfather. They were visiting her parents when my mother was born.

I still feel proud of the brave Canadians in Tehran who sheltered our embassy personnel during the Iranian hostage crisis. Unfortunately, Canada is drinking the liberal Kool-Aid. They should look to France to see what is happening there with the Muslim population growing exponentially and changing the entire culture, and not for the better. It could very well happen to Canada too.

Canucks - Ya gotta make allowances for them:
I attended a university graduation in Montreal last year. The highpoint was when they gave a 'lifetime' achievement award to some guy who figured that if you mixed very slow learners with normal or above normal performers - the overall class learned less and took a longer amount of time to do it than if the class into graded levels when the pace of learning of all improved.
The second high point was when a newly appointed professor from California said she wasn't sure she should take a job in Canada until one of her liberal friends told her to take it because the Canadians were 'smarter' than 'we' were - proving her friend right, at least when comparing California libs to Canadians.
Personally, I think the average National IQ went up in both countries when she left the US for Canada (but obviously not that much up north).

Sorry - You had to seperate the class into seperate 'capability graded' groups - when all the groups performed better.
Sheesh - it's 5 o'clock somewhere and I NEED IT!!!

Note to self. Add Canada to the list of countries I used to like, but don't care for anymore.

Another conservative Canadian journalist said that the only way to raise the ire of Canadians to the point that they would want to go to war would be to bomb one of the hockey stadiums.

LOL
