The soda bottles work just fine for storing beans and rice, etc and will lay on side.

I fill my bottles with water and stack then on the sides around the wood stove.

Now that I am not able to empty and refill them, I have figure that even old stale water, will be fine for lots of purposes and it will surely water a plant or two.

If you are planting a garden and want plant protection, fill the large soda bottles with warm water and put around the seedling, or you can buy the same thing for about $10.00 called a wall of water.

In the day time, the sun will warm the water and at night a release of heat will protect the plant, you can place them so that you can put a plastic bag over the whole works if you think it is going to need all out protection, but take the back off when the sun warms up.

I'm glad you clarified yourself, because I think we are fairly close to agreement on the subject. Overall, I do think the creeping socialism is a bigger threat to us than the monolithic Commie nation. I guess that my take is that the same forces that created the big Commie states want us to go down the path of creeping socialism. Different paths, same goal.

Anyway, I understand where you are coming from a lot better. I'm glad to hear differing viewpoints...I was just a little jumpy from previous attacks.

First they let me know how terrible it was and now they just don't talk to me because I stood up for myself. But that seems to be life...People like you and then they don't. Boy you nailed that one on the head. Like I said before, I don't normally take things that personal, but I was having a tough time in "real life". A few years ago shortly after I first signed up I pissed off a few of the big name regulars because I dared to disagree with them. I was courteous and respectful, I just disagreed with their viewpoint. I got flamed all to hell, but I was a little hesitant to reply in kind for fear of getting banned. I just ignore those people now. :)

As far as the folks that see us as their "entertainment" I just take it with a grain of salt. You get a large enough group of people together and there are going to folks of all persuasions. I just ignore them. But, that's just me.

I'm slightly embarrassed about my behavior. Usually I do just ignore them, but it got to me. Oh well, we all have our weaknesses. :(

Maybe 5 or 6 years ago, Art Bell was in the middle of an interview with a man on the phone, the man was telling some big secrets about the gov.
All of a sudden "Dead Air" and then a replay from the main board of the radio company.
When Art came back on, after a frantic attempt to find the problem, it turned out that the satellite had been fried in the very spot that Art's program was bouncing off and back to us.
It was on the news the next day, the first time it had ever happened.

I remember that very well! I was working the graveyard shift at the time and I would listen to Art during my "lunch" break. I heard the whole thing as it went down. It scared the bejebus out of me. The caller was very convincing, he sounded like he had seen some whacked out stuff and his mind had shattered. Like something straight out of The X Files. Then when the satellite was knocked out, it blew my mind.

At the risk of ruining people with my devil music, there is a rock band called Tool that has that call on their latest album, mixed with some freaky synthesizer effects. They did a great job of making the call even scarier. Get the lyrics/transcript here, scroll down to track 13, "Faaip de Oiad".

I guess the guy called back a few days later to admit it was a hoax. A very convincing hoax; that guy should win an Oscar for his performance.

That's what I have done. I left my last job to get out from under the thumb of the biggest a-hole boss anyone could have. Things were getting so bad that my girlfriend was complaining that I was coming home every single day depressed and with no self esteem. I'm glad to be gone from that wretched company, but things have been tough. So on that note, do you know of any b2b networking already in place?
