Beware this is a large image 9 mb. But underneath the "Rock Outcrop" about 3 quarters the way down in the dirt is an interesting looking thingy. It's looks like two fingers raised in the peace sign coming out of the dirt.

Whatever it is, it is astounding. I waited and waited and waited at 26.4 for the whole image to download. Then, searched and searched the rocky area for the item. Finally found it! Just sitting a few feet from the rover, in dirt it has no business being in! Sort looks like it walked there and then died... sorta. I can't think of any other explanation.

IMO, that was the best Trek flick. RM was great, interesting to see him as a villain.

Truckin' got my chips cashed in.
Keep truckin', like the do-dah man
Together, more or less in line,
just keep truckin' on.
Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me;
Other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurres to me
What a long, strange trip it's been.

Whatever it is, it is astounding. No comments on it at today's mission briefing.
To: djf
In fact, the rover might be right over the top of it at this moment.

Is it being moved now? I hope they go straight there! Whatever it is, it does not conform to any rock fracture types I've seen, and I've seen alot. A rock sitting there with one appendage type would be an anomaly, this is spectacular. And the color is noticably more bone color than the rocks in the background, which are well rounded and have the red/orange hue.
Combine this with the diatom type materials in the closeups, and the ESA image of the Spirit landing site showing green patches on the surface...
I think we're in for a very interesting announcement soon!

More than likely it's:
1. An odd-shaped rock
2. A piece of debris from the Opportunity
