I heard the funniest thing,
With all the 2 point conversions yesterday, I'm surprised Justin Timberlake didn't go for two.
To: mattdono
Yep, pretty sure that's what happened. Why isn't anybody giving Josh Groban any credit for his wonderful performance in honor of the Shuttle disaster and the astronauts we lost?! It's too bad that the really great performances get overlooked by the distasteful ones.
To: mattdono
Yea - he did and I yelled Mildred don't look - but it wuz too late she'd done got titty teazed!

I think your post #400 is really sad!
Sports events are supposed to be FAMILY events.
Next we'll have strippers in Church!
Most homes were like your house yesterday. Families gathered with other families having superbowl parties. Even having chili and some homes enjoying a few beers (Though we didn't I know some do, and I have no problem with that). But who would EVER have imagined what happened?
It goes beyond any standard of acceptability. An apology isn't enough.
We need to stop this kind of thing NOW so your son's CAN watch football.
Here are the e-mail addresses for the FCC commissioners to support Mr. Powells actions.
Chairman Michael K. Powell:
mpowell@fcc.gov Commissioner Kathleen Q. Abernathy:
kabernat@fcc.gov Commissioner Michael J. Copps:
mcopps@fcc.gov Commissioner Kevin J. Martin:
kjmweb@fcc.gov Commissioner Jonathan S. Adelstein:
jadelste@fcc.gov Below is an e-mail address in Houston that I HOPE is the DA's office.
Janet Jackson EXPOSED HERSELF in PUBLIC to a lot of children. That is illegal. If you or I did that, we would be arrested.
We all witnessed it.. so she should be arrested. There is NO QUESTION she did it. NO QUESTION OF GUILT!
This is the e-mail address of the District attorney's office in Houston Texas.. or so it says on my Yahoo search engine. :o)

...something tells me that we're not the only people peeved about their halftime show Yep. You're right. I have a friend who is a big nudity fan. I wouldn't say the guy likes porn, but certainly doesn't mind going to Hooter's (in fact, he suggests it every other week) and "suffering" through food. Needless to say, I didn't think he would mind "the nipple".
But, in fact, he was quite appalled. He has 2 kids (7 and 10) and couldn't believe it.
It really summed up how I think most people who aren't overly religious, overly prudish, overly whatever-someone-says-to-try-to-make-out-like-there-is-something-wrong-with-you feel.
This isn't a free speech issue and I'm sure there will be defenders that this was "art" and "artistic expression" and those that are trying to saying this was wrong are "right wing, religious fundamentalists", but that is all bunk. It's real simple...
Good taste isn't tied to one's religious beliefs.

oh no! Kid Rock is a Bush supporter? He's so stupid, it's bad for our side. I'd pay him to go campaign for John F. Kerry (did you know he served in Vietnam?), Howard the Dean, or whoever else the dems nominate.

It would be nice to not have to work then I could dedidcate myself full time. Am I wrong in my explaination behind those church Super Bowl parties?

How in the world is that not offensive? I totally agree. Also, the flag, when not properly flying or hanging, should be folded correctly.

Actually, I gave him quite a significant amount of credit (see
Post 979).
He made me weep. I don't do that often, so I don't know how much more I could say in Mr. Groban's favor. His performance was simply amazing.

An accident?
You have to be kidding me?
Kid Rock may not know Flag etiquette, so I can TEACH him that. He can be TOLD that. But MOST people KNOW you don't EXPOSE YOURSELF TO KIDS!!
Kid Rock goes into dangerous places to entertain our troops, with the CHANCE he himself could be harmed. I don't personally like his music. Matter of fact, I wouldn't listen to it, or buy it. I think he thought he was HONORING our troops! OR did YOU even know his record as far as the USO?
A lot of our young troops DO like his music and they do buy it. So if it brings them joy to listen to it, and to buy it, and if the guy put the flag on his head NOT KNOWING it broke flag etiquette, then yeah, I can forgive that. Because he DOES care about our troops! But I want him to know it is WRONG. I'm an advocate against treating the flag disrespectfully. But I also know there are people that don't know all the flag rules. Some only think it is wrong to BURN it.
But to EXPOSE YOURSELF TO KIDS is quite another thing. And I think EVERYONE KNOWS IT IS CONSIDERED INDECENT TO DO SO!
UNDERSTAND?

The saddest part of this whole stupid act yesterday.....
Their would have been more outrage if Jars of Clay, would have preformed. They are a Christian Band!

Great! Give the FCC ever more power. I understand the offense taken by this stunt, but for the love of God, the FCC is an agency designed for political shakedown. It doesn't "protect the children." It only further erodes the two most important institutions in American life...parenthood and the marketplace.
And they wind up punishing the people who least deserve it...the hapless local station owners who had no control over the incident and no reason beforehand to put in measures to protect their viewers from breasts at the Super Bowl!
Let CBS, Janet Jackson, MTV, and all other co-conspirators get their just share of opprobrium and let's stop running to the government to solve all of our little annoyances in life.
I personally did not see this until after the game on the internet and am assuming that millions of people are in the same boat. Following the logic, we should get the FCC involved now in internet content? Wanna go down that slope?

I'll pass...but if you know when Clay Aiken is going to make an appearance...I'm there!!! :)
