Wesley Clark vows to curb illegal immigration if elected president;Yeah, yeah. Sure you will. While you're at it, why don't you promise a middle-class tax cut. We've never heard that one before either.
What a dumbass.

A Democratic candidate could win the election running on a platform of reduced spending, tax cuts, and ending illegal immigration. Pinging Jean F. Cheri...

"We are going to control our borders, going to work with the government of Mexico to stem what's going on down there because we have to." Hahahaha! Presidente Fox loves the illegal immigration. Money sent back home to Mexico provides the second largest national source of income. And in addition to losing all that income, if they stayed home they might cause trouble for the Mexican government which has always been near-legendary for corruption.
There's no way Fox will actually work toward stemming it; the effort will have to be uninilateral from our side, and Fox has gripped mightily about the current border patrols.

"Wesley Clark pledged Saturday to 'get our balance right' by stemming illegal immigration while allowing immigrants to earn citizenship over time."So typical of democrats to try to have it both ways! Advice to Clark: Change your ways. Do right. Some will be gratified; the rest will be astonished.

Bush stole issues from the Dems, and they in turn steal issues from him. This will be interesting.

Clark's living in a fantasy world and playing to emotions. The only way to seriously change the immigration situation is to totally deny any government assistance to non-citizens, and penalize employers who break the law. The 'anchor baby' thing has to change too, but it would take a constitutional amendment if I'm not mistaken.
No way he's going to propose a reduction in government, just more federal money for border control, a potentially bottomless pit.

This is exactly what scares me about Clark...he will say
ANYTHING to get votes. Total whore. Like when he told the
feminists..abortion is just fine 1 minute before delivery!
Then after receiving flack, he changed his position.
Clark is UNSTABLE, without core valuse, switches parties
and position more often than I change underwear.

Here's a tin-foil-hat special. Maybe Kerry and Clark have a deal. Clark runs as Ross Perot and torpedoes Bush in the South by running to his right, Kerry finds ways to hook Clark up with money or fame.

Clark has as about as much credibility regarding illegal immigration as Bush has, namely zero.

My thoughts on Bush PROPOSAL:
>> It is a PROPOSAL, not a executive order. Congress has to
approve it, chances are very slim.
>> Est. 15 Million illegals were here BEFORE Bush took office.
And they have been coming for atleast 50 years. Nothing has
been done because a. the INS does not have the dollars, b. there is no lobby against it c. employers are for it d. the illegals pretty much are not into crime, probably less than the general population
>> To locate and deport 15 million will cost 150 BILLION $$ since it costs atleast $1000 to investigate ONE alien.
>> Bush proposal, if enacted, affords a cheap method of locating the illegals since they will have to get a work-permit with address and employer. If some day we need to deport them, what a great source of home addresses.
>> None of the 911 terrorists entered illegally.
