[history]
Wesley Clark pledged Saturday to "get our balance right" by stemming illegal immigration while allowing immigrants to earn citizenship over time.
Appearing in this military community near the border with Mexico, the retired general said, "We are going to control our borders, going to work with the government of Mexico to stem what's going on down there because we have to."

I'm surprised this is going to become law in California. Terrible law.
I'd still recommend irate phone calls from voters to the Governor's office.

Look, just because someone served in Vietnam does not mean he or she cannot be an idiot. Serving in Vietnam is not rocket science, ok? Anyone can be nutty, even if you are a 4 star General, like Clark has proven.
BTW, what are you trying to imply here by asking people to leave the country? It is silly.

The naivety of people to believe Clark might actually stem illegal immigration is astounding. Not only that, but he also guaranteed no more 9/11s if he's President!
I can't believe this crackpot is actually a serious contender for office, let alone the 'rat nomination.

I don't believe he will anymore. The reason for my belief is that Dean has spent himself dry. I always thought he had more $$$ than he did. As late as the day after NH, I thought he was loaded.
If Dean does go 3rd party, he'd have to earn the nomination of The Greens. Dean's whole shtick was his bankroll, and he no longer has much of that left.

A Democratic candidate could win the election running on a platform of reduced spending, tax cuts, and ending illegal immigration.
Yeah, right. Bush proposes a little more money and better organization for the NEA, the "conservatives" here go berserk.
Any Dem who proposes what you say would get to watch their base melt away faster than an April snow storm in Louisiana.

Sheesh, who can blame the guy? Bush's "solution" was to legalize everybody because he doesn't want to lose the taco vote by stepping up and really solving the problem.

Bush is savvy, while Clark is merely "holding a damp finger in the wind." Why is that?Dubya has cornered the political market, and is in the process of rendering the Democratic party obsolete.

I'll never forget Clark saying that the White House called him on 9/11 and asked him to claim Iraq was behind the attacks. (Forgetting evidentally the White House was evacuated and it's unlikely anyone would think to call this fired former Clinton official!)
When it was proven through cell and hard line phone records that no such phone call was made to Clark that day (or any other day), he recanted and said it was actually a Canadian based think tank that focuses on Middle Eastern studies. When George WIll wrote a column exposing that no such animal existed, Clark recanted further.
Then when he was fired by CNN because they finally caught on to the fact that he was running for president in the future and they'd have to give fair time to other candidates, he claimed the White House got him fired. As though CNN would do as the WHite House asked! LOL
He's the biggest conspiracy theorist that has ever run for president.
