What a marvelous opportunity for Bush to use his very first veto.

For those on this thread screaming about the President... STOP IT! and write your congressman. I call my GOP congressman on a weekly basis, and have been complaining to him about how he has been giving Bush every unconstitutionl spending increase over the past four years. Bush has NOT ONCE used a VETO on any spending bills. YES, write your congressmen, but you do have a right to be "screaming about the President", after all the GOP congressmen are doing everything he wants them to do.

I doubt if the funds can be earmarked for only "patriotic" arts.

Well, there are only two reasons I can think of. Any person here who would deliberately vote for the Democrat is a closet liberal, or (I'm sorry, folks - I don't mean to get personal, but...) a complete MORON.

He has the authority to VETO these requests for OUR MONEY. Did you know that?

I would hate to think because of a bunch of hotheads that this President would lose an election because he and his wife want Americans to experience the different forms of art that has meant so much to this Nation from the time our Country was born. That's great - and I'm glad that the NEA isn't funding blasphemy, but let the Bush's raise the money themselves, instead of "funding the arts" by taking it from me without my permission.

The point is, don't blame Bush for what Congress puts out there. If he asks for something and they tag on extra money to it, blame THEM.

He has the authority, but has yet to use it! Most of the spending increases have been promoted by him, so why would he veto them?

Newt private life is his businees. I couldn't care less. I like wise didn't care about Clinton private life either. As long as Mr Elected, is doing the peoples business well and holding his oath to the Constitution then I don't have a problem.
Newt was outed because he was a real threat, he really wanted to return the USA to a Constitutional republic so Newt had to go and the GOP's hand is just as dirty as the Rats.

Joe, Have you noticed the change in attitude the past couple of days. It went from , "No problem the White House is for Bush, to if he loses the it'll be YOUR fault!" Uh, I've noticed a lot of things lately.
One thing for sure, is even some of the die hard Bush fans are wanting refunds....

Sure - but why is it so hard for you Bush-haters to blame Congress for anything they do?
