An executive board would. Stack it with neo-conservative luminaries, and only approve patriotic art and films.

Most of these people here sound like they'd oppose the construction of the Lincoln Memorial as 'socialistic'.

When the pudlickers fund raisers call me I tell them quit hispandering and spending. I haven't encountered one yet who can give any reason to vote for a pud except for their party affiliation. In NV we have a pudlickin senator named ensign who is trying to get hairy reid's son (who is to the left of Lenin) onto the bench. I was hit up for money to replace hairy but, the person calling didn't even know who the puds wanted to replace him with!

When President Kerry or Edwards ends the War on Terrorism and, then, two years later Islamists blow up New York City, remember this and know that everyone who did not fully back the President is responsible.

I think you are a troll. The terrorists are to blame for their actions and not anyone who doesn't agree with your perverted ideaology!

No, but it makes perfect sense that the government should spend money to encourage patriotism, does it not?

Absolutely! And if we did not do that then the Jews would take over da fatherland! Ziech heil!

It won't be presnted this way, of course- but the NEA board can be stacked with conservatives.

Oh, yeah, that's smart politics. If you're going to kick these people off the board to make a poltical point, why don't you just defund the whole thing? Same effect, costs less.

Oh, I know why, because that would be the conservative thing to do!

There are dozens of films on the Civil War. And tons of books. Already paid for. It's called the public library. Enough is enough.

Yes right now at all levels, State, Local, Federal, we are spending close to $1 Trillion on Education. If you listen to the NEA and others it isn't enough. It will never be enough. Continuing to throw money at Eduaction will never ssolve the problems and there will still be low test scores.

I don't understand this, when has any election turned on the national endowment for the arts?? Have you EVER seen a campaign comercial on this issue?

It is like Bush's brilliant plan to get more votes by proposing an amnesty that 80% of Americans oppose.

This is not pandering, it is either pure stupidy or Bush really does believe in a big-fat-bloated government.

Mark my words. Every idiot here that is whining and saying they won't vote for Bush will be the biggest whiners from 2005-2009/2013 when Kerry is President.

You have that right! How much do they think Kerry is going to give to the NEA and that will fund obscene art projects. There is no way that Laura Bush is going to be announcing money for the NEA that is going to go to something other then what we would be proud to be associated with. Some of you reactionary types are incapable of thinking and Drudge puts up a headline and you go off on your tangents like a bunch of elementary kids that hear a rumor!

Grow up! NEA is not going to make or break this reelection.

You think what you like.

Of course the terrorists are to blame. But those who fail to stop them, knowing that they are doing so, deserve the blame as well.

Therefore, anyone who votes against President Bush this fall has on their hands the blood of all those Americans who die thereafter- because they could have voted for the one man in the race who could win and kill the terrorists, but did not as a result of their own stupidity.

What is the actual size of the National Arts program? Are we looking at something significant? I don't approve of funding individual artists of either painting or sculpting with federal money. I don't mind the national symphony orchestra or the national ballet or even the national opera if we have those things.

How much did we spend on the National Endowment for the Arts last year? How big a deal can this possibly be?

"I guess the apologists will just continue that mantra until a real rino like guiliani is nominated in 2008, and we should all shut up and be happy about it because, after all, the guy has an (R) next to his name."

Oh they don't want Rudy they Want Condi Condi Condi, who is an even bigger RINO than Rudy.

But at least Rudy would be an AssKicker in the War on Terrorsim, while Rice is vastly overated on National Security.
