Actually, my daughter is much more fluent than I am. It's been a few years since I used my Arabic but I can give it a shot. I can definitely insult a rag-head's mother.

Electrical grid doesn't seem "spectacular" enough for their desires.

(I'll be glad when Superbowl is over.)

CO is the real baddie - colorless, odorless, and very poisonous. But don't discount the potential for problems from CO2 - too much of that can also lead to severe side effects or even death. Make sure you have an adequate air flow so that your oxygen level doesn't drop too far - often a problem with modern construction which can be much more airtight than older construction and lead you into trouble before you know it!

Propane is certainly better about that than, say, kerosene. But it still has lots of potential for danger when used indoors, and not just from CO2.

You are probably right. I've debated with my mom the merits of disclosing this info to the general public, and she is of the opinion that most people just can't handle the truth. But I'm like you: I want to know all I can.

Thank you for your continually informative posts; I learn from you on a daily basis.

I've said this earlier on this thread and I'll say it again. This story is fishy, real fishy, IMO. If the guard shot himself there would be powder burns on his face, on his shoulder, chest area (on his clothes), etc. There is no way anyone can hold a handgun far enough away from their own body to not leave powder burns. It's impossible.

Second, ballistics testing. Ballistics testing in unreliable only when the gun has been shot a bunch of times after the shooting in question. In this case, it sounds pretty implausible that the guard would shoot himself in the shoulder and then proceeded to shoot the gun a couple of hundred more times to alter the rifling in the barrel. It's standard procedure (I think) to search for the bullet and the casing in order to do ballistics testing That's what they need to do to see if it matches the guards gun. I can't imagine that they are not doing that. The whole thing doesn't pass the smell test.

Seems when AQ/Hamas/Hizbollah wants to do something, they first strike the heads of whatever state/nation they're after, presumably to weaken communications further down: cities.

I was watching the evening news and they said that yesterday, in D.C., the weather was icky.

In, D.C., when the weather is bad, gov't employees have the option of not going to work.

And doggone it, doncha' think they deserve that option?

No Calpernia, unfortunately I have not. I am having problems with my computer. I have DSL, but for some reason every time I click to go to something different I get knocked offline. I think I may have been hacked or something. I am also getting that stupid 3rd party popup advertising screen every once and awhile. I have been trying to find the root directory that I believe that revel posted last night, but I don't see anything that looks like what he posted.

I swear I will never go to any of those jihadist websites, internet groups again. If it is not posted on FR, well I will just forget it. Whenever I get back to functioning properly here I will read the articles that you have provided.

They saw it in his eyes don't ya know!!!! Re: BASF shooting in Freeport Texas.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Snip..
House says when he confronted the man, he was shot in the shoulder.
Hours after the incident, FBI agents came to the hospital and gave House a lie detector test.
"The test was telling him that I shot myself. And I told him no, that I didn't, and he said that he could see it in my eyes that I was crying out for some type of help," said House.
Investigators are still probing a shooting incident at a Freeport chemical plant.
Investigators would only say that House has no criminal record, and that police are still investigating his initial story.
The FBI maintains the shooting does not have any connection to terrorism.
House is back at home and has hired an attorney.
CLOSE BUT NO CIGAH!
Laskhar terrorists almost got passes for Retreat ceremony
Rajnish Sharma
New Delhi, January 27
The three Lashkar-e-Tayyeba terrorists arrested by the city police on Sunday almost managed to get tickets for the Beating Retreat ceremony on January 29. This has made the elaborate security drills ahead of the event seem like a joke.
The Delhi Police and the IB’s operations' cell are now verifying all passes issued for the ceremony. A massive 'verification exercise' is on.
Sources said they were verifying whether the passes had been issued in the terrorists' names or if they had got them under fictitious names. Sources said it was for this reason that the Special Cell sleuths hadn't disclosed the names of the militants arrested.
It was during questioning that one of the militants confessed that they were in the process of getting passes. "Security agencies usually take it easy in case of pass holders since there is a stringent process for issuing passes for such functions,'' an official said.
A team headed by a Joint Director in the IB is investigating if any senior government official had recommended passes for the terrorists. The place where the passes were to be delivered was to be disclosed just a day before the ceremony.
Investigations have also revealed the three terrorists were to be joined by another team, possibly from Hyderabad. This team was to smuggle explosives and ammunition for the final assault.
Though the police are tight-lipped on details of the case, it is suspected the arrested militants also came from somewhere in South India. They hadn’t taken a road route from the Valley.
Another Intense Pic.
An Iranian asylum seeker known only as Hassan screams in pain after setting himself on fire outside the UNHCR office in Kuala Lumpur on January 27, 2004. Hassan torched himself on Tuesday after failing to obtain political asylum and was due to be sent back. Hassan survived the self immolation and was sent to the hospital for treatment.
How far would you to escape the madmullahs.
