Already addressed. I'll simply repeat my answer.

[Answer: Nothing that would help us if it were real beyond our own little secret shows of force you will never hear about on CBS] There is no defense. Only a response to a massive nuclear force which has been prepositioned while we watch, something we will not enjoy the benefit of.

I can not be any clearer so I'm going to stop answering the same question now.

There is no doubt we will have a heightened state of surveillance of the Russian exercises, and some plan of action in case they should step over the line that includes "Mutual Assured Destruction".

TERRORISM: Terrorizing the Terrorists
StrategyPage.com ^ | February 3, 2004
Posted on 02/04/2004 2:57:20 PM CST by John Jorsett

The foreign terrorists being captured in Iraq are yielding a lot of information on how al Qaeda is operating in the wake of the post-911 American counterattacks. Lacking their Afghan bases, secure (from the US listening in) communications and apparently short of cash, al Qaeda leaders see Iraq as a battleground where al Qaeda volunteers can prove that they have the right stuff. Successful suicide bombings require a team of a dozen or more people to make it happen. The suicide bomber himself, if the team is good, will be the only member of the team to be lost. The other members of the team, who handle planning, reconnaissance, security, building the bomb, training the bomber and supervising the preparations and the operation itself.

Forum turns up power against terror
The Australian ^ | Februari 05 2004 | Sian Powell

A SWAG of high-powered delegates from around the world - including 20 ministers and nine deputy ministers - met in Bali yesterday to begin laying the groundwork for increased co-operation in the fight against terrorism.

The joint Indonesia-Australia conference was the culmination of months of planning, and sought to foster alliances particularly in law enforcement co-operation. Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said the evolving role of police forces in the region had become central in the drive to counter terrorists.

No need to apologize. I was only attempting to respond to you with the same level of logic in which your questions were posed.

As to your facts, I am forced to assume these were statements made by Mr. Putin directly to you as there is no source cited yet you declare them as "cold, hard facts."

I never stated that Russia would take over the U.S. That's a strawman argument.

Please cite "evidence" that muslims are a threat to the Russians at this time. Please include any threats you are aware of by Muslim groups to bring down Russia as they have the U.S.

You state they (Russia) do not have the "time" to deal withh nuking the U.S. and dealing with the aftermath" yet you do not point to "evidence" or "fact" supporting this. What in the heck is keeping them so busy?

You say "You see, why would they shut off their ATM machine?" Their ATM machine is running dry, and China has replaced much of what the U.S. provided in earlier years. Please, allow me to share with you this little "fact": Leonid Ivashov of Russia’s Geopolitical Problems Academy (You probably are hearing his name for the first time, but please try to remember it) three days after September 11, 2002 said "The present state of Russia satisfies U.S. interests,” explained Ivashov three days after the Sept. 11 attacks. “What will be tomorrow is unclear.” “Thus, the U.S. is now at a transition point. She has come to the climax of her military-power adventures for grabbing power over the planet. I think this peak will be crossed in one and a half to two years, after which the USA will retreat from its positions as a result of economic problems.” They saw the ATM running dry well before today.

Yes they (Russia) are sitting on the third largest oil reserve in the world. May I present to you another little "fact"? Domestic oil production in the U.S. peaked in 1970. This is well known and can be found through a simple search on the net. Guess where the second largest reserve is? Venezuela. Guess where the largest reserve is? SA. Is it beginning to come in loud and clear yet?

You say" Fifth, if Russia really did want to take over the US, would they tell us weeks in advance to prepare?" I must not have gotten that memo. when did they tell us to start preparing? Are you referring to the largest nuclear exercise conducted by Russia in over 20 years, the one in which they will actually be launching satellites, the same one in which they will test "their missile defense system"? While I have not taken the position that this exercise is an excuse for launching an attack on the U.S., what better way to deploy, carry out logistics and position themselves than under the guise of an "exercise"?

COC, you don't have to be a weatherman to own a winter coat.

Just heard a blugrass rendition of the darkside of the moon...can it get any more bizarre?

Actually, it can. There's a bluegrass version of "The Wall", by Luther Wright & The Wrongs.

RE: Russian connection

We know today that Russia failed for a lot of reasons and one was corruption and inefficiency. Look at the Muslim terrorism that goes on in Moscow - the theater incident and bungled special ops 'rescue' points out some of the super capabilities of the Muslim Russians. And, there are a lot of Muslims in both Bulgaria and Russia. Also the Russian police are too corrupt to not take a bribe and overlook - or not see - certain things.

There's also the former Yugoslavia connection with all the "blue eyed" Muslim's there. Everyone who knows anything about politics, Yugoslavia, and Tito knew that the only thing keeping all these different cultures & religions together was Tito - they were all more afraid of him and his thugs than they were their neighbors. Russia, IMO, also knew that Yugoslavia would implode after Tito's death; it was just a matter of when. When in did "implode" it was basically a free for all for the Muslims. Now it is (again IMO) a base for more terrorists to plan and plot against America with Russian backing.

Some folks say (not on this thread) why would QA or the Muslims work with Russia? After all Russia fought in Afghanistan before we did. America has not invaded and occupied Muslim territory. (Yes we fought in Iraq and Afghanistan but that was after we were attacked). Meanwhile Chinese and Russian troops stand guard over the Islamic people of Central Asia. Why the disconnect here? We (the American masses) listen to what is in our press and TV and it influences our thinking. The Russians and the Muslim countries have their press and media only theirs is much more censored and slanted (brainwashing again). And, for some people, in their minds, we've invaded Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt. Maybe not militarily - but culturally. And these twisted minds (the Muslim's) can't accept that. So it's jihad all the way, with Russian backing. Russia has hated us for an entire century. They want to get back at us, at our success, at our abundance, in any way they can.

Sorry this is so long. Just my 2 cent for the day.

Been reading your bits of wisdom while I caught up Granny. You are definitely well read on the Soviet/Russian tactics of political destabilization we see all around us today.

Can I recommend a good book as a follow -on?

" War in the Shadows- The Guerilla in History" by Robert Asprey.

It has a fascinating study of the links between the Soviet-era political destabilization policies of Cuba, China, and the Soviet Union as well as the foreign aid funds they supplied, who they supplied it to,their transfers, and the links to South American insurgencies in it.

makes a good companion piece to the sources you have already cited.

respectfully

Sean, I know you posted this article earlier on this thread (post #2553) but with all this discussion of the "Russian connection" I think it should be posted again for those that might have missed it. IMO, a must read article. Link Here

Who knows what she was selling. I tried to talk Pat out of it, but the doctor bills herself as "Natural", so Pat went for it.

I left one group that she took over and know she was banned from a group that has several real nurses on it.

I would not want to use animal vaccinations on my family.

When I raised day old calves, I used Peptomismo (sp?) and salt water for scours with good results.

I use mostly herbs for healing, as the drug store medicines usually have a reverse effect on me.

If you read of the tests on the Smallpox shots at promedmail.com, it will make you a wee bit nervous on getting the shots.
