Am I the only one that thinks Kerry looks as though he's had Botox applied to his face recently?

Water Agency Fired Manager Who Warned of D.C. Lead
By David Nakamura
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, February 4, 2004; Page A01
The D.C. Water and Sewer Authority fired a high-ranking manager last year who had repeatedly warned top agency officials and federal authorities of lead contamination in the city's tap water before tests last summer revealed that the lead exceeded federal limits in thousands of homes.

IMHO al-Qaeda is under the direct control of Ayman al-Zawahiri, who in turn is under the direct control of the Russian intelligence services. al-Qaeda is thoroughly compromised by Russian intelligence. al-Qaeda is a proxy of Russia. When the US is attacked is will be in effect a Russian attack. It seems the "Hunt for Red October" continues.
Here is my approved liner note for this novel:
Gripping! What a read. Tom Clancy himself would be impressed. Finally, the "Empire" strikes back.

I definately agree re: AQ being a Russian proxy.
Goes back to Nynquist's stories about what Soviet General Lebed said.."WHEN the US is attacked with a suitcase nuclear weapon, it will be blamed on 'Arab terrorists'. Don't believe it. It will be Russian Spetsnaz [sp - Secret Service]".
Supposedly, they would go for our satellite uplink stations first, to 'blind' the US to ICBM launches. This matches EOM's claim that we will be "blind" after the attack.
The only thing we can hope is that W & company have warned Putin and his gang thoroughly, and that we are "on" to what's happening (assuming you and I are correct in our assumptions).
I also assume that if we've thought of this angle, that the USG is also all over it. Which makes me feel "somewhat" better - although I'm pretty concerned about the upcoming Russian nuclear manuevers (supposedly the largest in > 20 years?). One has to wonder if that's timed to coincide with a major attack in the US...just as the Rusky bombers are airborne..hmmmmmm..
I do have to say that I am pretty amazed that we didn't see any major attack "between the Eids", as promised directly by AQ (in the "break the back, change the order of things" threat that one of the AQ leaders actually did make - I forget where, but it was not on a message board but an actual interview).

"al-Qaeda is under the direct control of Ayman al-Zawahiri, who in turn is under the direct control of the Russian intelligence services"
I find this interesting because al-Zawahiri was in the US in Northern California in 1995 visiting various mosques and Sacramento now has 30,000 very recent Russian immigrants.
We had an unpleasant run in with some of these Russian "youths" while camping at Yosemite last year. They had a Russian flag at their campsite and were wearing CCCP sweatshirts.

Drudge ran a series of photos a week or two back essentially proving this beyond the shadow of a doubt..
Kerry is indeed a walking advertisement for Botox.

Our local station KFMB, which is a CBS affiliate, used a clip of that same videotape as a teaser for their upcoming 11pm news last night. I did not manage to stay awake during the broadcast so I didn't get to see the whole story. What they did show in the teaser was exactly as you described, the open cockpit door.
I've looked on KFMB's site and can not find anything about it yet. I'll email them and see if they can provide a link.

"Supposedly, they would go for our satellite uplink stations first"
Where are these located?
To: Letitring
Thank you for that explanation,Letitring. It never occurrred to me that MN could mean midnight. Being from the State of MN you can see where I was concerned. I've been following this thread since it began and have found some interesting information.

DC - not really sure. Supposedly (from what I've read), there are not that many that communicate with the birds watching for Russian launch.
I've also read that they have to be ground-level (can't be buried inside of a mountain, for example) - since they need to uplink directly to the satellites. Makes sense to me, but I have no idea if this is true or not. (Kind of like satellite TV with the dish on your roof as opposed to being in your basement).
IF they aren't buried, they make tempting targets, IMHO. I would sure think that there is SOME kind of backup system (aside from just multiple replicates but all at ground level), but what a great first strike target.

Huh? You sound like my husband. He thinks this is just the cold war redux. They had to find another way to fight us, and here it is.
To: Domestic Church
Your question reminds me of the Saturday Night Live skit where the Iraqi 'journalist' keeps asking for sensitive information at the briefings.

30,000 new Russians and what might they be doing?
By the time it becomes blatantly PC to look for ME types the Russians will have been activated.
To: liz44040
Liz, I know what you're thinking. And it can be confusing as there are many complex dynamics going on with the terrorists, Russians, Chinese and our own government. Sean could be wrong. In fact there may be, and probably is, within the terrorist world those who want to see Russia go down as much as they want to see the U.S. go down. But if in fact the AQ leadership has been compromised, and are acting on behalf of and with the assistance of the Russians, there is a very strong liklihood that the lower ranks of the terrorist organizations aren't even aware of it.
I remain convinced, however, that where Communism is concerned, nothing is as it seems. So I cannot personally take for granted what Russia, and their possible proxies, say or do.

I finally found out it was on our NBC affiliate, NBC739. Called the news desk and was told pretty much what you stated in your post. The only additional information that I received was that it was an Air France flight from Istanbul to Paris and the cockpit door being open was videotaped by someone from West Palm Beach.
I asked for a link to the story and was told that they picked it up from their West Palm Beach affiliate and for me to either look there (which I did and can't find it) or to GOOGLE it myself to find more info. I'm not a great googler but I did try and I can't find a thing.
But as you said, it is very easy to understand why Air France flights get cancelled so quickly if this is any indication of their security measures.
