I recall the countdown clock as originally posted before it was yanked. There was no doubt that the clock was intended to signify the date and time by which AQ would initiate the mother of all strikes -- an attack that would make 09.11 look like a picnic in the park. I recall that several of the regulars on this thread wondered whether that was the date and time by which the attack was to occur or whether it signified the start of the attack, and based upon the text that accompanied the clock, we pretty much came to the consensus that the attack would occur by the time the clock struck zero.

I swear I am pretty certain I heard this afternoon on one of the financial shows that Walmart is a huge donor to the GOP. I don't know if this is recent "giving" or the political party Walmart has always favored. I also didn't hear the beginning, so I don't know if they were talking about major donors in the retail sector exclusively or not. Anyway, I had my dukes up at that point, waiting for the talking head to start making negative insinuations about Republicans....like bringing up the fact that Walmart sells guns and ammo, etc.

I an inclined to think, based on the information available at this time, that this is not the work of Al Qaeda. Now as more information becomes available, my opinion may change. It just doesn't seem like Al Qaeda to me at this point. (Not that my opinion carries any weight - I'm just a soccer mom, remember!)

It is quiet on the forums but it's the feast and maybe the jihadis decided to get a life and go to the beach or something.

You probably already saw this. Because I already said it, but When the clock runs out tonight I read that it will display a message. But only 24hours later does it display another message that says the event has ended.
