Wonder if it was in the same script as the letter to Daschle. I suppose CNN wishes it to be Ricin.

I am getting a little bit of an erie feeling about all of these odors that happening everywhere. Probably just that we are looking for every little thing to report right now. I fear that if something did go on then the government would keep it quite untill they had no other choice. Keep in touch.

Wow, sorry, I forgot to mention how the web story conflicted with the TV news reports. None of the Tv news reports mentioned the smell of natural gas, just a strange odor that permeated the city. As I said before, schools and businesses closed as a result.

some weird things in manhattan today (not sure if any of this was covered on this thread today):
- a boiler explosion on ellis island caused their "terror plan" to be activated, evacuating island visitors to the ferries.
- a fire in an elevator shaft in the marriott marquis
- a car was abandoned inside the midtown tunnel, just left there with no driver. the tunnel was closed in both directions while the bomb squad checked out the car.
the last one troubles me, you just can't stop your car and hop out in the tunnel and walk out. I don't get it, there are cameras in there and police at both ends. it must be that the car was stopped, the driver hopped into another car with a different driver who drove them out. basically, this one is troubling because that would be the way a car bomb could be placed in the tunnel.

abcnews.com ^ | 02/02/2004 Hazardous Substance Suspicious Powder Empties Some Offices at Senate Building Feb. 2 Some workers in a Senate office building were told to leave their offices today after preliminary testing indicated the presence of a hazardous substance. The U.S. Capitol Police said a suspicious powder substance was found at 3 p.m. in a room in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, located northeast of the Capitol. A preliminary test found that the substance was hazardous, the police said. Around 7:20 p.m. a message on the Senate's internal telephone alert system instructed employees in several offices on the south side of the building's...

I should also point out that I kind of felt like that a few days ago and then it went away. I think I was spending a wee to much time reading on the computer and not getting enough sleep.

If you drove through the chemical, I would be for finding out what treatment is being used for it.......AT ONCE.
While we were focused on Houston, there was 300 out and about with the jihad.
I couldn't open your link but that's not new with this old computer.
I don't see how anyone could think it was all over, "cause nothing happened in Houston", that we know of.
You know some chemical was released in your area.
Now it is a "white powder for Frist".
Dare I ask the question of "where next?"
The longer we are played along, like a fish on a line for sport, the less we remember about 9-11 and the shock and pain that we felt.
Do find out if you need treatment. Hope you are feeling better soon.
If it affects your nerves (typing) it must be checked.

Just getting here. What is the latest on the substance found on Capitol Hill?

When I notice the odor driving down US 23 last night my first thought was the petorchem release that occured in Sarnia yesterday making its way down the Detroit river to Lake Erie. That's also what I expected to be reported when I saw the story preview on the news. No connection was made between the two in any of the reports, which I really thought strange. Then, when I looked it up to post a link here I was floored to see them describe it as the smell of natural gas, which is not what I smelled nor what was described on the TV reports.

from cnn: The Homeland Security official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said those results could be back as soon as Tuesday.

Could very well be, I certainly have been doing that too. I just feel "thin", not all there. I'll try to get a good 8 hours of sleep in tonight, recharge the batteries.
