They are so caught up in these other stupid stories and don't look worried - I think they would have a source somewhere who would tell them if it was really dangerous at this point in time

I agree. We'll just have to stay on top of things and keep everything here on the record for future reference.

"Good going Liz, you did the right thing. I called in what I thought to be stange behavior on several occasions right after 911. No regrets!"

So did I on two occasions days/weeks after 9-11.

I first reported a Moroccan who used to work at my local A & P with whom I had chatted with. The topics of his chats were what led me primarily to inform the FBI AND the fact that he had disappeared (ie, no longer employed by A&P) weeks before 9-11, not his nationality. They thanked me for it.

I also reported a backpack on the table of my lobby of my building. The backpack had a note addressed to someone, who was unknown to the super or to me. The backpack had been in the lobby for hours and before calling the police I spoke to the super, but no one knew whom it belonged to or who had left it on the table. Again, the cops came to my door and thanked me for it. It turned out the backpack was full with infants items.

When I say "we'll have to stay on top of things", I mean we as in us, here on this thread -- not the media.

Do the characters in 4699 match up in anyway with Daleel? Interesting that this is a father - son combo since sometimes the posts read like a teen wrote them.

Elaborate security cannot stop Super Bowl streaker

HOUSTON (AFP) - A streaker delayed the start of the second half of the Super Bowl, with New England Patriots linebacker Matt Chatham giving police an assist in apprehending the naked male interloper.

With the smoke from an elaborate musical half-time show still hanging in the air at Reliant Stadium, the streaker displayed his cheekiness by stripping off a referee's uniform and running along the middle of the field.

Alright, I used the terms Soviet and Russian interchangeably. But for the sake of accuracy can anyone tell me the difference between a Soviet ICBM and a Russian one? Or the difference between the uniform of a Russian soldier/sailor/airman and those of his former-Soviet older brothers?

Just in case a few here have not noticed, the Red Star, symbol of the so-called former-Soviet Union is back with a vengeance in todays Russian military forces by decree of President Vladimir Putin.

I think they stopped the attacks last night. I feel those last 2 flights that were cancelled, going into Houston, were the grand finale and it was stopped.

This is kind of interesting as well. Emergency Shelter for 230,000 Beijing residents completed, 1000 more planned (my title)

" Beijing plans to build more than 1,000 emergency shelters in the next few years.

There are also plans for temporary shelters in sports complexes and large parks.

The city already has a well-equipped underground emergency shelter that could be used in case of earthquakes or war.

China's first such shelter was completed last October in the Yuandadu Park - on the city wall ruins of the capital of the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368).

On the surface it's impossible to tell Yuandadu Park apart from other sites.

The emergency shelter is hidden by lush grass and trees.

Should an earthquake or fire hit, however, the park can suddenly turn into a safe haven for some 230,000 Beijing residents.

Makeshift toilets are added with concrete lids and covered by sod. Emergency wells are capped by plastic rockery. The bases of statues are hollow and can be used as storehouses.

Moreover, some of the street lamps in the park are equipped with monitors and in case of disasters they can be put into operation to give information for material dispatching and personnel control.

Song Wei, an official with the seismological bureau, said the 38-hectare shelter in the park is divided into seven areas and is equipped with power and water facilities as well as fire-prevention facilities, restrooms and storehouses.

It also has headquarters, epidemic prevention stations, specialized living zones and even two helicopter landing pads. Up to 250,000 people can live in the shelter for up to a week, said Song.

According to the seismological bureau, the pilot project is only the first step of Beijing's plan to build a citywide emergency haven system.

Similar facilities will be built in Beijing's eight downtown districts and even in a wider area.

The city has 5,300 hectares of land that can be used for emergency shelters, including 140 parks, covering an area of 4,760 hectares.

While the "Emergency Shelter" signs in plaques around the northeast of the city have aroused curiosity of passers-by, experts with the Beijing Seismological Bureau said the new facilities are a precaution against natural disasters.

They said their construction was guided by forward planning and safety considerations.

The bureau said its aim is to ensure all residents in Beijing have access to appropriate shelters in the near future.

The Huangchenggen Relics Park - the ancient wall of the imperial city of Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), and the Dongdan Stadium will soon be reconstructed to also act as emergency shelters, the bureau announced."

Heard it from an analyst today and wondered it myself. alQ knows we are listening and looking into jihad chatter on the net. So they are either testing us or putting false info out here to test our response. Either way IMO when they go making an unreal rap video like Emerson showed , to me that is a sign of desperation for recruiting.
