Excellent question. Does anyone have any information about that meeting?
I DO think they are downplaying the potential threats. I think there is so much more going on than we will ever know.
As an aside- have noticed that if you watch TV at 3AM or so, that is when you get the "Tom Ridge" Homeland Security spiels. And the tests on the radio. Hardly ever hear or view these during the daytime hours!
Of course, we nightowls also enjoy such treats as the "Ronco Salad Shooter", the "I can make you a Millionaire overnight" "Get your CDL License in 3 weeks" and, of course "I lost weight using---physician's formula X- if you call now, your first bottle is free!!!"

update on plane that crached in water near LA
Divers Bring Plane to Surface
LOS ANGELES Divers recovered a plane Sunday that crashed about a half mile from the Port of Los Angeles and prepared to turn it over to federal officials for investigation.
The crash, which killed the plane's elderly pilot, occurred around 10 a.m. Saturday between the Los Angeles Lighthouse and Cabrillo Beach. Divers found the body of 74-year-old William Zesiger, of Palos Verdes Estates, on Saturday after reaching the craft in 52 feet of water.
Los Angeles County fire Capt. Mark Savage said the single-engine, two-seat plane appeared to be experimental or home-built. He said it had significant damage, and that the wings were not intact.
Officials marked the site of the wreckage with buoys Saturday night, but waited until morning to raise the plane because of darkness.
Long Beach and Los Angeles County divers used air bags to bring it to the surface, the loaded it onto a flatbed truck to take it to a Coast Guard facility. The plane will be turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration, Savage said.
Fishermen who saw the crash Saturday said the plane was flying westbound and did not plunge into the water at a steep angle but instead hit the ocean almost as if it was trying to land, Savage said. He said dispatchers did not receive a distress call from the plane.
The cause of the crash was not known.

You are so welcome. That's why I asked for it, way back then, thought it might come in useful tonight. :)
Maybe someone will link us up for NYC for tomorrow?

Great they have air flights over the city and one bird is low on fuel and asking if they should head right back or wait for the other bird because they don't want a gap. Command says "Don't worry about it" come on back.

Sounds like it's a traffic chopper or plane or maybe a police surveilance bird.

Didn't alot of people here discuss the dinner? Was it with Christopher Hitchens, or am I dreaming?

Thanks for the link, but this computer does not do movies or sound and no room to download the needed programs.
Can you give us an idea of what it is about?

Ok, Cindy I believe this is what they copied the beat from. A group called Lumidee and the song is "Never Leave You (Uh, Oh, Uh Oh)". Both my kids knew the beat right off the bat. I'd be pissed if some Jihaddeeee stole my music.

The ballon thing reminds of the dancing girl thing in EOM's mesages. Kind of Party related.
