[history]
President George W. Bush blew it Tuesday night. He delivered a State of the Union address that downplayed his most promising - and potentially revolutionary - domestic-policy initiatives. Earlier drafts had reportedly contained a lengthy exposition of his vision of an "ownership society," expanded and strengthened by tax changes and Social Security reform.

Weird analysis on your part! For me, Kerry is just another RAT loser who didn't have the strength of character to understand that his party, the RATs started and ran the VN war and lost it themselves. Kerry claims to be a hero, but is really a perfect coward, throwing his (or someone else's medals away). I honor those VN vets that do not politicize the war. Oh, and when did Bush support the killing of the unborn? Get your facts straight!

I would vote for a conservative third party candidate in a heartbeat, knowing all along that he had no chance of winning. Why? Because if the Republicans think they can take my vote for granted they are sadly mistaken, even if it means a democrat in the White House for 4 years.
Sometimes lessons have to be taught even if it means a little pain for the Republicans and the country for 4 years. It is our job to see that if they take our vote for granted that they only do it once. It will hurt for 4 years but if they learn their lesson the country will be far better off in the long run. And by the way I am perfectly sane, or so the little voices in my head keep telling me.

Well, if he goes back on the sauce... Based on his amnesty plan, I'd say he's already boozed up and dancing around a pole while Fox and Rove stuff dollars in his g-string.

Welcoming homosexuals and those supporting the holocaust of the unborn into the party. That is not compassion, that is just a coward.
By this I mean President Bush iswelcoming those people who are pro-Abortion into the Republican party, Arnold for example. When you do this you make the compassionate instead of the courageous choice. We need to bring in to the Republican Party people who wish to share our beliefs. The Republican Party is Pro-Life.
It mirrors the Immigration situation where our President is allowing 10 million invaders to stay in our country even though they have broken our laws. Inclusion is good if you include the Right people. The others should be Left out.

If those of us that are the hallmark of conservatism falter and break into useless fragments If GWB is a hallmark of conservatism then it is already broken and useless!

My mom just paid (out of social security) $196 for a month's fuel oil. Is natural gas not available to your mom?

Kerry claims to be a hero,He is UNQUESTIONABLY a war hero. If you wish to attack him then take take the time to acquaint yourself with his positions on the issues.
With all due respect, rants like yours contribute very little to the debate.

I just toss them in the trash... Don't throw them away, use them as an opportunity to send a message.
Write something like "do something to secure our borders, then I'll send you some more money".

George is not going to get another conservative Supreme Court appointment through the Senate. Sure he will. Why wouldn't he?
Hillary should not be able to get a liberal appointment through a Republican Senate.
Really? Just like Clinton couldn't get Breyer or Ginsburg through?
Abortion is legal and will stay that way until the center of gravity on the issue reverses.
Wrong again. It will change when we get 2 more votes (added to Scalia, Thomas & Rhenquist)
The trend is our direction and when we cross, we will be able to limit abortion, whether Hillary or George is president.
This has nothing to do with trends. It has to do with winning elections & getting 5 Supreme Court votes.
George can't do anything about abortion until the electorial trend changes.
Again, absolutely wrong. It's only a matter of math.....we need 2 more Supreme Court votes. Forget all the philosophy.
President Hillary is not going to have any material impact on Affirmative Action that I can see either. Slick Bill certainly did not.
Absolutely wrong. Didn't you hear about the Michigan case? Didn't Clinton's nominees make the difference?
President does not have anything to do with judicial activism I can see either.
You couldn't be more mistaken. It's all in who holds the White House.
In fact on this issue, if you assume a Republican Senate, we are probably better with Hillary than with George.
Dear God! I'm speechless, my friend!

Re immigration proposal- thank you, I believe I am a decent, thoughtful person. I support the President but not blindly. I support him because I believe he loves our great country with every fiber of his being .....just like I do. Therefore, I trust him to protect our country. I also realize he's a politician and he must compromise on some issues. BUT, again, I believe he would not compromise to the extent that he would place the country in danger. When I heard of the immigration proposal, my initial reaction was,'IS HE NUTS?!', 'HE'S GOING TO LOSE VOTES'. I was/am also concerned about making it easier for terrorists to get into our country. Then I calmed down and began to listen to various viewpoints. I heard an economist speaking with Brit Hume and he explained how the proposal would help our economy and then I heard that Newt Gingrich supports the proposal and I respect his opinions. The President put this forth knowing it would not be popular, so he must believe that it has some validity. I believe the proposal is not a true amnesty, although, I have not read the proposal and it may just be semantics. In the end, I continue to support the President since,I believe, he has a high degree of integrity and he is a strong, caring leader who will do what is right for America, even if it's not popular with the UN and the 'world community'. I also support him because we NEED to appoint judges with plain ole common sense. The liberal judges in today's courts are changing the America founded by our forefathers. Some judges attempt to protect the rights of some by restricting the rights of others.

Is natural gas not available to your mom?
Nope. My late father considered getting bottled gas (commonplace in their area; one of those big white "pigs" which gets filled from time to time) but did not due to higher cost compared with fuel oil. One of their neighbors has come to the house more than once suggesting that they pay for the natural gas line to be laid the 1/8th of a mile of frontage they own (20 acres, 1/8 x 1/4, been in the family since 1851) because he wanted to use natural gas in his farm operations. They didn't.

If we give in to the populist propaganda, and the left (it's just another trick, ya know), we end up sucking the hind tit. The left has divided us for 4 decades and they have gotten away with it. They have the press, they have the 'way' and they have the money (they usually get it from government money, your money). Ronaldus Maximus brought us together the first time, Bill Clinton pushed us together the second time. GW is keeping us together.
I get so tired of the Republican party tearing themselves apart when we have, 1) a Republican in the White House, 2) a Republican majority in the House, and 3) a Republican majority in the Senate. Let's just go ahead and let the socialists win, let's just lay down and give up. Hell, we are so scared of a bunch of cowards that we will just give up the fight! Don't make me sick....stand, and deliver, your country needs that.
What in the hell are you people smoking? This is NOT the time to give up! There is a Republic to be saved, it won't happen in a day, or a week, or a year, but it will happen. If we don't stand together we will certainly die alone. We have the majority, and we have the will. Don't let the socialist media divide us, and don't get all the rhetoric tear us apart. That's what the enemy wants. Hang with the philosophy that makes us patriots. Stay the course, and fight the fight. They want us to stumble, and if we do that, our Republic is gone. Stand together, my friends, we'll fix it later. Don't get impatient, stay the course and BE patient. We'll fix things in the second term. We have a war to win, and a Republic to fix, it can't be done with illogic and impatience, and it sure as hell can't be done in a day. A huge majority of the people in this country believes in conservative values. Make these things work, and don't lay down and die, it's not the American way, and it's not the Patriots way. Unite and defeat the socialists, they hate our spirit and they fear our strength. Don't give them a lever to kill us. Stand together, united, and we will run them into the nearest river. United we stand, divided we fall.
