In other words, he's pretty much like every other celebrity who sings the Star Spangled Banner at sporting events.

It did sound like a suprising number (half dozen or so) of the Dean Children's Crusade knew the words. Maybe they passed out cheat sheets before the rally and those were the ones old enough to read.

Francis Scott Key just did a 360 in his crypt.......

Ah, well, you know that ol' Francis Scott Key -- he was a one-hit wonder. Didn't even write enough tunes to make a "greatest hits" CD, much less a box set. So he probably not in Dr. Dean's musical library.

O say Tattooine,
By Red Dawns early blight,
What so loudly we scaled
At her thigh-heights last creaming.
Who's broad thighs and tight bra,
through the terrible night,
O'er the rampant Sasquatch,
Were so Haliburton dreaming.
And the sockets dead stare,
The Toms cursing over there,
Glazed poof on the right,
That the fag did not care.
O Say does that Tar-Bangled spanner yet crave,
O'er the gland of us three,
And the tome of depraved.

The main news story today is about Dean losing as opposed to Kerry winning. If it bleeds it leads. LOL

Oh, say can you see
by the dawn's early light
what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
who's bright strips and broad stars
in the parelious night,
o'er the rampart's we watched,
as the da da, da, da, da, da.
And the rocket's red glare
lots of bombs in the air
gave proof to the night
that we still had a flag
oh say does that spangle banner wave
over all-l-l-l-l that's free
over the home
of the land
and the land of the free!

I am no Howard Dean fan, but it was obvious that hecklers were being led out of the rally and he was singing (you must admit a clever idea to deal with that situation) and watching the action and anybody can trip over words when they lose concentration.
In other words, there is plenty to criticize him about without claiming "he doesn't know the words", when that is not a fair conclusion.
Flame away.

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thru the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out of of their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave'
From the terror of flight and the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

It's bad enough that they use the Constitution as toilet paper under the guise of 'progressiveness'. The fact that they butcher the Star Spangled Banner under the guise of 'patriotism' makes me retch.
