Proof that there used to be drunks on Mars, no doubt.
Proof that Bacardi will drop in price once we get on with these space missions.

Mars sure looks dead. The closeup shot I saw made the material look to me as if it cohered in a crumbly fashion.

One of the surprising elements was that they had a preacher as a cast member and they played his role straight and serious, no snide remarks about mythology or anything such as that.

"Proof that Bacardi will drop in price once we get on with these space missions." Along with U.S. real estate values.

. . . you can't make pixels that aren't there. Or you can go out and find the pixels.

thanks for the ping!
Looks like the Spirit rover will not find sedimentary rock unless it drives for several weeks to the East Hills.
I hope they drive it there.
Otherwise, the JPL Scientists will go back to David Drier and say that the next rover "might find it".
Looks like STS isn't the only program looking to support the local swimming pool fund.

The USA signed a treaty outside of the UN before the UN treaty was proposed that disallows sovreignty over the stars and I agree with that treaty. The UN treaty pretty much dupliated the earlier treaty.

WOndrful shot!
It is breathtaking to actually view such a clear photograph of another planet. Flat out exciting-to wonder at that horizon our robot captures.
The sky is so mysterious-perhaps full of the red dust that gives this planet its nickname.
Testing our knowledge, reaching out to explore, gathering thousands of bits of info along the way, is one of the very best traits of humanity.
Hope lots of thinking outside the box is going on at NASA, hydrogen and oxygen just might not be the building blocks of other forms moving within our universe. Ya never know-but God sure did design the human mind with exploration wired deeply into the mix! HURRAH!
Our little rover just knocks me out! :^)

WOW, good one. I swear we ride dirt bikes in an area that looks very similar to that in the high deserts of California.

Indeed, earth is a unique place:
In Search of the Milky Way's Habitable Zone Moreover, the Sun's circular orbit about the galactic center is just right; through a combination of factors it manages to keep out of the way of the Galaxy's dangerous spiral arms. Our Solar System is also far enough away from the galactic center to not have to worry about disruptive gravitational forces or too much radiation.
When all of these factors occur together, they create a region of space that Gonzalez calls a "Galactic Habitable Zone." Gonzalez believes every form of life on our planet - from the simplest bacteria to the most complex animal - owes its existence to the balance of these unique conditions.
Because of this, states Gonzalez, "I believe both simple life and complex life are very rare, but complex life, like us, is probably unique in the observable Universe."

Because of this, states Gonzalez, "I believe both simple life and complex life are very rare, but complex life, like us, is probably unique in the observable Universe." I disagree. I believe that life could exist in many different types of planetary environments. Life forms that we can't even relate to yet. Of course, like Gonzalez, it's just my belief.
