[history]
Some of those who live along the Potomac River have grown sleek in the belief that they know many of Washington's secrets. Maybe they do. But if so, no one is sharing reports or even rumors on who is keeping President George Bush away from the facts on immigration, the problems of Mexico and guest-worker programs.

If you understand where all of this is headed....namely the creation of an American Union, similar to the EU which will jeopardize our national sovereignty, our system of laws, our borders and communities, increased crime/drugs/disease, etc. then this article is right on point. It shouldn't take a rocket scientist or even a RINO to figure out that illegal immigration is just the process of conditioning and FORCING us to someday accept this lunacy.

"I'd like to add that Bush and his advisors clearly do not understand the math involved here.....they're risking the backlash from literally ten to twenty (or possibly more) American voters in order to pander to maybe 2-5 million immigrant voters..."You DO mean "ten to twenty million American voters -- right?
To: Reagan Man
I'd say the President has a keen desire to see the borders wide open.
There's a reason Canada will now be able to bid on contracts in Iraq and it has nothing to do with getting Hispanic votes for George Bush, and everything to do with getting Paul Martin on board for January 1, 2005.
Bush could've won the election handily without pandering to Hispanics in America. I would love to be wrong about this, but a "united" Western Hemisphere is on the horizon.

Spanish becoming an official language of the United States The first generation immigrant from Mexico will learn English as a second language. Their children will learn Spanish and English. And their grandchildren will only speak English. It has ever been so, and so it will be. English is the language of assimilation in the US, and immigrants want their children to learn English! Mexican immigrants in California have repudiated the ESL programs in the public schools for English immersion programs.
Have more faith in the worth of your culture! It is the culture that created the greatest nation ever to exist on the planet. And the greatest freedom and prosperity for the individual. That is why so many Mexicans are coming here to work and live.
Cinco de Mayo is quite a holiday for Anglos in the US, in case you haven't noticed. They don't know what it's about, but it's a great excuse to get drunk.

The whole article is wrapped in tin foil, and the leftists like to think they are not Marxist but their actions say otherwise.

Yeah I did....although in my community everybody is so pissed off with him that all he might end with is ten to twenty voters.

that's how I read it. Anyway, it is obvious Bush is willing to pander to illegal aliens (criminals) even at the expense of getting reelected. What he is proposing is truly national suicide.

As far as my bumping your thread, it looks like your thread is only getting about 20 posts an hour outside of the ones I made.
It merely shows how interested the rest of this forum is in Bush-bashers like your self.

You don't get out too much do you? As long as you're indoors so much do a keyword search on 'aztlan', 'Mecha', 'reconquista', etc. then come back with some pertinent observations.

You still haven't answered my questions, although I expect most people here already know the answers.
Actually, Hispanic immigrants are holding onto Spanish far longer than earlier immigrants held on to their languages. In this, they are aided by the forces of multiculturalism, both in government (bilingual education) and out of government (the programs that ask whether you want English or Spanish). Earlier immigrants were not coddled like this, and they also faced an eventual end of reinforcements from the old country, both of which assisted their assimilation.
A prime offender in this, of course, is Bush, who insists on addressing Americans in Spanish. One could only imagine what Teddy Roosevelt would have thought of one of his successors addressing Americans in a foreign language.

No, right in N. Texas where I see first-hand the debillitating effects of illegal immigration and being an employer of only AMERICANS who PAYS ALL OF MY EMPLOYMENT TAXES (unlike numerous other local businesses) I feel very qualified to back up my comments.

I live in N. Texas, too, between Dallas and Fort Worth.
I have to tell you, I think we've handled illegal immigration pretty well here in the Metroplex. I'm not in favor of a blanket amnesty, but would like to take a work program as a starting point for discussion.

Bush's immmigration plan is a stroke of genius. Too bad the majority of FReepers here are too ignorant to understand this and resort to the usual "I'm taking my ball home and voting 3rd party candidate."
It is logistically impossible to round up 10 million illegals and deport them. The manpower, the costs, and the infrastructure involved just isn't there.
To: Thorin
A prime offender in this, of course, is Bush, who insists on addressing Americans in Spanish. So you hold it against Bush that he speaks Spanish to people who understand Spanish? That's xenophobic, and, frankly, silly.
One could only imagine what Teddy Roosevelt would have thought of one of his successors addressing Americans in a foreign language.
Exactly. You can only imagine because you don't know.
One can imagine what Fat Teddy would look like trying to run a seven-minute mile, as Bush does.

What "cloths"??
To: sinkspur
I'm against illegal immigration but this article is obviously exaggerated and slanted. Bush has not proposed national suicide. He is attempting to get Mexicans signed up as legitimate temporary workers. There is no danger to the USA in that. Zero. I would like to see a policy at the same time of cutting off further illegal entries. We'll see.

Who's misleading conservatives to attack Bush as bad as the democrats do? That is the better question.
