Arrest over bomb joke on plane
From correspondents in New York January 17, 2004
A HOLIDAYING French student was in a New York jail here awaiting a court appearance following his arrest over an aircraft bomb "joke".
He left the plane at New York's Kennedy Airport after allegedly joking that he had put a bomb in the plane's toilet, court sources said.
Frank Moulet, 27, was in custody in a floating detention centre called "The Boat" in Long Island Sound off the borough of The Bronx pending charges of making a "false scare".
His girlfriend, arrested with him after they arrived on an American Airlines flight from Santo Domingo, was put on another plane and sent back to France.
Police were called to the plane after a cabin attendant reported that Moulet raised his fist in the air as the plane was landing and shouted, "Oh sh*t, I guess the bomb I planted in the toilet didn't go off".
He faces up to four years in prison on the charge.
US immigration officials have said they are also interested in questioning him.

Normal human beings don't joke about planting a bomb on an airplane. That's pretty funny. Normal human beings make jokes about boarding an aircraft these days all the time (see the post after yours) -- They just don't do it within earshot of a TSA person, an airline employee, a cop, or in the airport terminal. I'll bet even you make jokes about it -- at the appropriate time, of course. This perp's problem was that he was unable to discern that it was not an appropriate time or place to voice his dumb joke.

We don't actually know what the real threat that works will be... TWA Flight 800 and several other aircraft HAVE been taken out by missiles.
The government cannot admit it, because they would not be able to fool the sheep into believing that the minimum-IQ airport gestapo have everything under control.

Your tinfoil is blocking your ability to see perspective, and your assessment on what the "sheep" can handle is insulting. Those sheep all witnessed a terrorist attack live on TV and most survived it with their perspective in order and a desire to prevent more like it.
You haven't got a lock on all the ideas terrorists might think up. Missiles are just one kind of threat, and no one threat subplants the need to protect against any other. Some are harder to control than others. We know that, and so do they. The fact that many threats exist doesn't mean we can't protect where we can.

Your tinfoil is blocking your ability to see perspective, and your assessment on what the "sheep" can handle is insulting. Wrongo.
It's the government that has made the decision that the sheeple would not handle the knowledge that flights were shot down with missiles in the proper way, which to the government would mean people would keep flying.
And I have great faith that we are using racial profiling to track terrorists, and it is working just fine. That is why there have been no further attacks, NOT because of the placebo airport "security."
The Discovery Channel had a bunch of FBI Files episodes on terrorism last week. There is absolutely no doubt that racial profiling is going on, and Hooray for them.
But of course *wink*wink* we have to PRETEND that we aren't racial profiling, which is why 80 year old grandmas get targeted by the minimum-IQ gestapo.

I agree on profiling.... but we would be stupid to watch or check only those with Arab ID's or appearance. Both are ~really~ easy to change.

Your viewpoints on air travel make me suspect that you are really just afraid of flying and you're using all of this BS to justify that. I fly all time and I don't notice much more inconveinence than before.
Try driving to the UK BTW cause that's where I go when I fly.

Try driving to the UK BTW cause that's where I go when I fly. You are so special.
And the only thing that would tempt me to fly is if I were promised the flight would be hijacked by a bunch of Mohommed Attah-style homosexuals with box cutters.
They would find somebody like me a little bit more of a problem than the defenseless stewardess whose throat they cut.
That's how scared I am of flying.

I've shared my equally valid opinion. That you have. Please understand that I never state--nor even think--that my opinions trump those of others in any way. I hope that I do not come across that way.

Another consideration is the fact that 80 year old grandmothers can be used as drug mules without them even being aware of it, and while the issue is terrorists rather than drug smugglers, the same subterfuge can apply. Another is the fact that Reid, Lindh, and Padilla did not fit into a racial profile.

Another is the fact that Reid, Lindh, and Padilla did not fit into a racial profile. But they associated with people who did.
That's how we caught 'em.

Wow, you must be a tough guy huh? Don't take it out on me (and the airline industry) just because you can't afford a ticket and/or are afraid of flying.
I'm sure terrorists all over the world are just shakng in their boots thinking about you.
To: StolarStorm
Don't take it out on me (and the airline industry) just because you can't afford a ticket and/or are afraid of flying. Explain to me how I could possibly take anything out on you?
Unless you are so pathetic you confuse the Internet for real life.

It's been fun, but I don't want to enage in a senseless flame war with someone who has obvious issues. Make sure you use "pathetic" in every post. I know it's your favorite word. Buh Bye!
To: StolarStorm
Thank God he finally left.

"As for your considerations about being on holidays as a student, this sounds a little bit like jealousy isn't it?"
I just read a bio of G.W, at 29 he was studying at Harvard, another old student...
